We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to work with hands-on development of Software to control advanced semiconductor machines. The ideal candidate shall have interest in working with a variety of Software functional areas, including real-time systems, motion control subsystems, image capturing and processing, network communications, database access and management, desktop applications, as well as a desire to build state of the art equipment for the semiconductor industry.
Key contributor to the design and development of software for several aspects of high-performance semiconductor processing equipment. Design, develop, and unit test Software systems and features with minimal guidance. Use scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design and implementation. When applicable, actively solicit ideas and opinions from others to efficiently accomplish specific objectives aligned with defined business goals. Participate in the development of software requirements specifications, design documents, and software functional specifications; Participate in design review meetings to review or share information internally to ensure solution being developed addresses known requirements, technical issue, and other known design and R&D concerns. Provide estimates for design and implementation of features. Efficiently solve problems of diverse scope from minimal set of instructions. Work closely in hardware-software co-development teams. Provide support to Production and customer service/customers when needed; and provide guidance to more junior engineers, when applicable. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills in English Minimum of bachelor’s degree in related area (e.g., Computer Science, or EE/ME with Software related classes and experience) Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in full Software Development Lifecycle Experienced professional with a solid understanding of Software development. High Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, as well as Object-Oriented Design and development. Expertise in developing real-time, multi-tasked applications as well as Windows desktop applications. Understanding of control theory, feedback systems, and servo mechanisms a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex system issues in hardware-software systems. Experience with VxWorks (or similar RTOS) and Windows development desired. Ability to generate & understand project requirements and work in a dynamic environment. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams for system development, integration and problem solving. Ability to provide accurate estimates for design and development of functionality. Ability to work with minimal supervision at most times.
