Senior Engineer Networking

  

 

 

Overview and Responsibilities:
The Paramount Global networking team is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join the team! In this role you will be responsible for planning, crafting, implementing, maintaining, and supporting the Network infrastructure in a global enterprise environment. The main focus of this position is to implement and support Network and Network Security technology & solutions for Paramount Global, working within the larger Paramount Global networking team including project management, operation, expansion, and maintenance of all equipment within the Paramount Global Networking domain. 


Responsibilities: 
•    Introduce new networking technologies to transform/improve existing capabilities and services
•    Implement and handle enterprise and media networking solutions with high reliability and availability
•    Provide networking domain expertise to other teams as needed
•    Maintain technical documents for solutions and standard operating procedures such that services are delivered in an efficient and effective manner
•    Support of the Paramount Global Network, IP and related security services issues, resolve complex system and network issues and outages
•    3rd line support of all Paramount Global network infrastructure
•    Knowledge transfer to Level 2 Engineers on new implementations
•    Partner concern point for Level 2 Engineers and peers
•    Work closely with Voice Services team to ensure Telecom equipment is coordinated with networking infrastructure
•    Participate actively in engineering and architecture solution peer reviews and solution design sessions
•    Keep all documentation (including LAN/WAN drawings and equipment lists) accurate and up to date
•    Industry watching, both direct or through a third party, to ensure the company is aware and educated on new technologies
•    Vendor and 3rd Party support and customer concerns
•    Works independently and exercises reasonable judgment with little supervision while providing clear documentation of activities and accomplishments
•    Interacts closely with peers and management across all departments


Basic Qualifications:
•    Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field or equivalent experience
•    CCNP or equivalent experience 
•    Cisco and Palo Alto experience
•    Ansible Automation Technology


Additional Qualifications:

•    5+ years experience in a large corporate IP network communications environment
•    Network technical experience of the following technologies:
•    Knowledge of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, wireless AP and Controllers, IOS, NXOS, Load balancers, WAN accelerators, Content filters
•    Knowledge of IP security implementation, multi-vendor IPS, URL filtering
•    Knowledge of Dark Fiber and CWDM/DWDM
•    Knowledge of MPLS, BGP & Internet Exchange Peering
•    Knowledge of QoS
•    Knowledge of Multicast
•    Knowledge of Network Management
•    Experience in deploying SNMP based monitoring solutions
•    Experience in medium/large corporate network rollout and support
•    Experience in Large scale enterprise project management
•    Experience in Media/Entertainment/Broadcast/Hosting/ISP environment
•    Operate as an extraordinary teammate
•    Superb communication skills (verbal & written)
•    Very good analytical skills and issue prioritization
•    Good time management with an ability to work on a number of projects and tasks concurrently setting own agendas and efficiently prioritizing work
•    A strong enthusiasm for technology
•    Demonstrates thoroughness and attention to detail
•    Ability to generate and implement procedures
•    Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
•    Proficiency in handling demanding work environments

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

 

Hiring Salary Range: $120,000.00 - 130,000.00. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.  The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable,  as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
