Senior Engineer Specialist - COSMOS Job Category: Engineering Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: None Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: Up to 10% Type of Travel: Continental US * * * **The Opportunity:** CACI, Inc. is accepting applications for Senior Engineer Specialists on the Contract for Organizing Spaceflight Mission Operations and Systems (COSMOS) program. COSMOS specifies technical, managerial, and administrative work needed to ensure the availability, integrity, reliability, and security of the Flight Operations Directorate’s (FOD) Mission Systems supporting National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) space flight programs requiring mission operations support. For this contract, “Mission Systems” is defined as the systems and subsystems of integrated hardware, software, networks, telecommunications, data, displays, and mockups used in the preparation for and performance of mission operations. _*Position is contingent upon contract award._ **Responsibilities:** + COSMOS Senior Engineer Specialists are authorities in their respective fields. + Recognized as technical experts in specialized areas of engineering to include Aerospace Engineering, Communications Engineering, Cyber Engineering, IT Network Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Specialty Engineering, Systems Architecture, Systems Engineering, and Test Engineering. + Accountable for the design, development, test, implementation, and analysis. + Recommends alterations and enhancements to improve quality of products and/or procedures. + Consummate expert in a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. + Relies on extensive experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals and is responsible and accountable for the solution of complex total system problems. + Directs, guides, and coordinates activities of teams of technical personnel performing complex engineering activities. + Has a wide degree of autonomy, creativity, and latitude to accomplish tasks. **Qualifications:** _Required:_ + Master’s Degree in Engineering or similar field + Experience: Minimum 17 years related work experience + Must be a US Citizen + Must be able to attain US Government Top Secret Security Clearance (Minimum) _Desired:_ + Prior experience supporting NASA programs + Experience leading large and complex programs + Technically competent + Self-motivated + Attention to detail + Ability to work independently + Effective, professional interpersonal skills + Strong team player/leadership skills - **________________________________________________________________________________________** **What You Can Expect:** **A culture of integrity.** At CACI, we place character and innovation at the center of everything we do.
