**Senior Engineering Manager**
**Job Summary:**
The Senior Engineering Manager is responsible for the safe design of high-quality equipment, delivered on time and within budget for significant and complex client projects. This includes developing design/product standards and delivering custom-engineered integrated systems to meet both internal and external customer needs. The role focuses on technical analysis, design, and departmental guidance while promoting a culture of lean through shared learning, transparency, and success.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ **Lean and Continuous Improvement:**
+ **Implement Lean Principles:** Apply lean methodologies such as 5S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping to streamline processes, eliminate waste, and enhance efficiency.
+ **Promote Continuous Improvement:** Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging regular feedback, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
+ **Standardize Processes:** Develop and maintain standardized work procedures to ensure consistency and quality in manufacturing processes.
+ **Monitor Performance:** Use key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress, identify areas for improvement, and drive operational excellence.
+ **Team Development:**
+ Build and lead a responsive engineering team to work with internal and external customers from project kickoff through delivery of equipment and support.
+ Coach, train, and develop the engineering team from a technical standpoint, ensuring they are equipped with the skills needed for success.
+ Encourage a collaborative environment where team members can share ideas and best practices.
+ **Technical Leadership:**
+ Provide technical analysis, design guidance, and input on new technologies and regulations to set strategic future plans.
+ Ensure that all designs comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
+ Develop and deploy product, component, and design standards grounded in customer research, expectations, and best practices.
+ **Project Management:**
+ Oversee the development of design/product standards and the delivery of custom-engineered systems, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
+ Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution and delivery.
+ Provide continual improvement to current equipment, including design standards, manuals, and engineering procedures, and evaluate new technologies, design, and process.
+ **Support and Collaboration:**
+ Support field inquiries on technical and operational concerns.
+ Develop and utilize the team to build efficient business systems and processes to deliver equipment without waste and utilize appropriate KPIs to measure success.
+ Support manufacturing and metal fabrication teams in the creation of value stream mapping, work instructions, best practices, and value engineering existing products.
+ Support external supply base and customers with technical development and support needs.
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering or science.
+ 7+ years of experience leading engineering teams.
+ Sound knowledge of engineering theory and design criteria, including principles of heat transfer, combustion, battery technology, and wastewater treatment.
+ Working knowledge of process equipment instrumentation and controls.
+ A minimum of five years' experience in progressive engineering roles in research and development.
+ At least five years of leading a multidisciplinary team of engineers.
+ Excellent analytical and verbal/written skills.
+ Familiarity with a variety of manufacturing processes, material selection, and product testing in addition to sketching, layout, and drafting work.
+ Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
+ Ability to work independently and as a team in a flexible environment, requiring attention to detail and confidentiality
+ Candidate must be reliable, regular attendance is required
+ Ability to multitask while operating with a sense of urgency and using good judgment
+ Full time position, 1st shift: Monday-Friday 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
+ Pre-employment drug test is required
