About the Role
The Senior Engineering Manager - Theatre & Museums will play a critical role in the successful delivery of world-class theatrical and museum experiences within The Line. This position will lead and manage a team of engineers responsible for the design, construction, and ongoing operation of all engineering systems within these unique and complex environments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Engineering Design and Delivery:
Oversee the design, procurement, and construction of all building services within theatre and museum projects, including:HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning)Plumbing and DrainageElectrical Power Distribution and LightingFire Protection and Life Safety SystemsBuilding Automation Systems (BAS)Acoustics and Vibration ControlStage Engineering and Special EffectsEnsure compliance with all relevant engineering codes, standards, and regulations (local and international).Collaborate with architects, designers, and other stakeholders to develop innovative and sustainable engineering solutions.Manage Engineering Team:
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of engineers.Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of projects.Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.Project Management and Coordination:Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure smooth project execution.Resolve technical challenges and address any project delays or issues.Operations and Maintenance:Develop and implement comprehensive operation and maintenance plans for all engineering systems.Ensure the safe and efficient operation of all building services.Oversee the maintenance and repair of equipment.Sustainability and Innovation:Champion sustainable design principles and incorporate innovative technologies to minimize environmental impact.Explore and implement renewable energy solutions and energy-efficient systems.Quality Assurance and Control:Implement robust quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards of workmanship and performance.Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address any potential issues.Health and Safety:Ensure the safety and well-being of all personnel working on the project.Implement and enforce all relevant health and safety regulations.Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (preferred).15+ years of experience in the design and delivery for complex projects, with a strong focus on theatre and museum projects.Proven experience in leading and managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.Strong understanding of relevant engineering codes, standards, and regulations.Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and challenging environment.Experience in working on international projects (preferred).Experience in the Middle East (preferred).Key Competencies:
