Job Description SummaryThe Senior Engineering Project Manager will be responsible for managing scope, cost, and schedule for development projects for the Flight Recorders product. In the role of Engineering Project Manager, you will ensure that the project stays within cost and schedule targets while supporting a product line approach.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Engineering Project Manager will be responsible for forming development teams and managing project execution throughout the development lifecycles. In the role of Engineering Project Manager, you will lead the development of various technologies through increasing levels of maturity. 
 

Additionally, as the Engineering Project Manager, key responsibilities will include:

Forming project teamsDevelop integrated schedules with cost and staffing demandAuthor Statements of Work for supplier work (as needed)Lead Engineering content for gate reviews (Tollgates)Participate in fact-find meetings with customersSupport / lead various management meetings and report up to Senior / Executive leadershipSupport / lead meetings with customersDevelop / revise engineering project plansManage scope, schedule, and cost changes within the projectMonitor and report project performance, including key metrics and variancesDevelop and execute risk management plansAssist in mentoring junior EPMsDemonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processesUtilize your experience or expertise to solve problemsDevelop and execute objectives for self and othersHave the ability to affect short-term and some long-term business goalsProvide timely communications on significant issues or development, maintaining a focus on safety and reliabilityCommunicate with management on technical, organizational, resource, and personnel issues

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or technical field from an accredited college or universityMinimum of 10 years of engineering experience (Including project management or Program Management)

Desired Characteristics

PMP certificationExperience with systems, hardware and software designWorking knowledge of ARP-4754A and DO-178B / CKnowledge of ARINC 661, MIL-STD-1553, DO-254, MIL-STD-810Experience building effective teams and managing projectsStrong oral and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal and leadership skill
