**Job Summary**
We are seeking a skilled Hardware/Software Engineer to help transform ideas into products. The candidate will lead the development and maintenance of our hardware/software projects, with a focus on controls automation and PLC programming. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of software development methodologies and be able to write code in one or more programming languages. In addition, this person should have knowledge and experience in electronics, including the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues, as well as design and implement basic electronic circuits. This role requires thinking creatively and applying solutions designed for a different purpose to business and technical objectives.
**Essential Duties**
+ Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:• Develop and maintain software using the Codesys platform• Design and implement solutions using PLC or other embedded system setups• Configure and integrate hardware and software systems• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hardware/software interfaces• Collaborate effectively across Project Management, Engineering & Technology, and IT teams as well as other stakeholders(internal and external)• Maintain a clean code base – write, test, fix, and refine the code; collaborate on code reviews and leave technical comments toenable us to grow efficiently• Document development processes, system configurations, and technical specifications for current and future systems
**Under This Roof, we require**
+ Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field
+ 3 or more years of experience in software development and electronics
+ Practical experience with scripting languages (e.g. Python, Go, Terraform)
+ Knowledge of one or more programming languages (e.g. C++, Java, SQL)
+ Familiarity with software development methodologies (e.g. Agile, Scrum)
+ Experience with PLC programming
+ Knowledge of electronics and circuit design principles
+ Proficiency in configuring and integrating hardware/software systems
+ Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues
+ Hands-on experience developing, testing, and deploying cloud-based solutions utilizing Cloud Compute, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Functions
+ Demonstrated experience working with Linux OS based devices, preferably in the IOT space (e.g. sensor monitoring)
+ Strong problem-solving skills; analyzes and resolves issues that impact hardware, network, or service operations
+ High attention to detail
+ Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
**Qualifications Preferred**
+ Previous experience in industrial automation projects
+ Experience with Codesys platform
+ Knowledge of IOLink technology, Sensors and Actuators programming
+ Preferred experience with Google Cloud Platform as well as Big Query and Firebase integration
+ Coding in ST/LL and understanding of networking protocols
+ Working in an agile environment across hybrid and remote teams
+ Experience building and maintaining web API
+ Familiarity and experience with modern code pipeline, versioning, and development tools
**Travel Requirements:** Less than 5%
