The Application Developer will play a key role in supporting Humber’s digital identity initiative, enhancing the student experience through integration and development of our Digital Identity solution. As part of our Digital Identity team, the Application Developer will collaborate closely with technical leads and functional experts to design, develop, and implement solutions that simplify and personalize the experience for our prospects, students, learners, and alumni.

About the Senior Enterprise Application Engineer, Application Developer Role:

Under the general direction of the Technical Lead of the Digital Identity Initiative, the Application Developer is responsible for:

Work in an agile fashion and exemplify Product Excellence through embracing, championing and supporting the way we manage work and our product backlog. Promote transparency and accountability in your work.Designing, developing, and supporting integrations within the Digital Identity solution (Microsoft Entra suite, Identity Registry, and Identity Portal applications) as well as integrating with enterprise applications, both on-premises and cloud-based.Developing high-quality custom integrations using Microsoft Graph API, Salesforce APIs, web services (SOAP, REST), and other relevant technologies, ensuring adherence to best practices for efficiency, maintainability, and security.Creating interfaces and integrations with third-party solutions using iPaaS solutions, message queuing systems, and standard integration protocols.Supporting migration from existing point-to-point integrations to modern, scalable integration platforms.Conducting requirements gathering sessions, collaborating with functional subject matter experts to develop effective and seamless integration designs that enhance the student journey.Preparing use/test cases, supporting unit testing, and assisting in the execution of automated testing efforts.Troubleshooting and resolving critical incidents, such as unexpected outages, integration failures, data synchronization issues, and supporting disaster recovery efforts.Collaborating with technical and functional leads to share knowledge and align on best practices for technology and solution development.Documenting integration architecture, development processes, and maintenance procedures for ongoing support and improvement.

A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.Certifications in Microsoft Entra ID, Salesforce development, or relevant integration tools are considered an asset.

Experience/Skills

Three to five years of experience with integration development in large, complex, organizations, including experience with Microsoft Graph API, Salesforce APIs, and iPaaS tools such as MuleSoft or Azure LogicAppsExperience working in agile development environments, contributing to sprint-based delivery, backlog refinement, and iterative improvement.Familiarity with both on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure, such as Azure or AWS, is a plusStrong development experience with Microsoft Graph API, Salesforce APIs, SOAP, REST, and relevant technologies.Expertise in one or more of the following technologies: Java, SQL, Apex, JavaScript, message queueing systems such as RabbitMQ, and CI/CD pipelines.Problem-solving skills and the ability to lead root cause analysis for integration and deployment issues.Excellent oral and written communication skills to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating to design, develop, and support integration solutions that meet the needs of the college community.
