▶ About This Opportunity
As the Senior Enterprise Data Architect, you will play a critical leadership role in defining and implementing a modern, scalable, and business-aligned data architecture strategy for 7-Eleven. This role requires a highly experienced professional with a deep expertise in enterprise-level data management, governance, and integration, as well as a strong understanding of emerging data paradigms such as data mesh, medallion architecture, and federated analytics. You will collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to drive data initiatives that enable innovation, self-service analytics, and enterprise-wide data-driven decision-making.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Enterprise Data Architecture Strategy: Define and execute a forward-thinking enterprise data architecture strategy that aligns with business objectives and supports scalability, agility, and advanced analytics.
2. Data Mesh Implementation: Design and implement a data mesh architecture to decentralize data ownership, ensuring domain-driven design and federated data governance.
3. Medallion Architecture Execution: Establish and optimize a medallion architecture leveraging Databricks to facilitate efficient data processing, refining raw data into actionable insights.
4. Federated Analytics Enablement: Architect federated data and analytics solutions that empower business units with autonomy while maintaining governance and security standards.
5. Self-Service Analytics & Data Democratization: Enable enterprise-wide self-service analytics using platforms like AtScale and Dataiku, driving data accessibility while ensuring compliance and governance.
6. Enterprise-Wide Data Governance: Lead the establishment of robust governance frameworks to ensure data quality, security, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
7. Advanced Data Integration & Interoperability: Design and oversee scalable data integration frameworks that enable seamless data exchange across diverse systems, applications, and platforms.
8. Cloud & Big Data Technology Leadership: Leverage cloud platforms, Databricks, DBT, and big data technologies to drive innovation, optimize data workflows, and enhance analytical capabilities.
9. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with IT, business intelligence, data engineering, and analytics teams to align enterprise data initiatives with strategic goals.
10. Security, Compliance, & Risk Management: Ensure data security best practices are implemented and maintained across the organization, in compliance with regulatory standards.
11. Emerging Technology & Innovation: Stay ahead of industry trends, evaluating and implementing emerging data technologies to drive competitive advantage.
12. Technology Evaluation & Vendor Management: Assess and recommend data management technologies and tools, ensuring alignment with business needs and long-term strategic vision.
13. Leadership & Knowledge Sharing: Mentor and guide teams on data architecture best practices, fostering a data-driven culture across the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 12+ years of experience as an Enterprise Data Architect or similar role in large, complex enterprise environments.
• Deep expertise in data architecture, data mesh, medallion architecture, data governance, and federated analytics.
• Proven experience implementing self-service analytics using tools such as AtScale and Dataiku.
• Strong proficiency in Databricks, DBT, Power BI, and cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Expertise in data integration, ETL processes, big data technologies, and modern database architectures.
• Experience driving enterprise-wide data democratization and self-service analytics initiatives.
• Strong leadership, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CDMP, TOGAF, Azure Data Architect) are a plus.
