Senior Enviornmental Engineer
Job Title: Senior Environmental Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Environmental Engineer to prepare air permit applications and compliance reports, evaluate facility emissions, perform air dispersion modeling, oversee facility environmental regulatory audits, and manage stormwater discharge monitoring and hazardous waste disposal. This role involves a significant amount of regulatory compliance work, including assisting with Environmental Justice Policy (EJP) and Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA) compliance.

ResponsibilitiesPrepare air permit applications and compliance reports, including using the US EPA’s electronic Greenhouse Gas Reporting Tool (e-GGRT).Evaluate facility emissions for compliance with Area Source, State Facility, and Title V classifications and generate Annual Emission Statements.Perform air dispersion modeling using US EPA-approved programs, such as AERMOD.Oversee facility environmental regulatory audits (e.g., boiler efficiency testing, cooling tower compliance, stack testing) and emissions performance testing (e.g., US EPA visual opacity [Method 9] testing).Prepare NOx monitoring and compliance plans, recommend equipment or plant modifications to meet state and federal regulations.Certify that installations of Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) conform to EPA’s performance specifications, or develop alternative continuous monitoring systems, such as Predictive Emissions Monitoring Systems (PEMS).Assist with Environmental Justice Policy (EJP) and Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA) compliance requirements.Manage stormwater discharge monitoring and hazardous waste disposal.Liaise with subcontractors to relay requirements, ensure quality work, escalate issues, and enable timely project completion.Conduct research projects, write documentation, and prepare responses to requests for quotation (RFQ) and requests for proposal (RFP).Essential Skills3+ years of experience in environmental engineering, environmental compliance, and environmental management.Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.Strong knowledge of air regulations, monitoring techniques, and pollution control strategies.Experience leading or managing staff or projects.Proficiency in air quality dispersion modeling.Valid US driver's license and willingness to travel.Additional Skills & QualificationsProfessional Engineer (PE) license or path to licensure.EIT certification.Work Environment

This position typically works from 8 AM to 5 PM with an hour for lunch, either in an office setting in White Plains or at various job site locations. The work environment is collaborative, with a youthful and dynamic staff. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $40.86
