Senior Environmental Compliance Manager - Renewables and Utilities 

Position Overview
The Senior Environmental Compliance Manager to support our Renewables and Utilities services across California. This role will oversee regulatory compliance during large-scale construction projects, manage field monitors and survey teams, and coordinate with various private and public clients/agencies. 

Key Responsibilities

Lead the development and implementation of environmental compliance strategies and policies ensuring adherence to permit requirements related to biological, cultural, and water resources (e.g., CEQA, NEPA, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, Coastal Act).Manage compliance efforts on large-scale infrastructure projects for utility, renewable energy, transportation, and water clients, coordinating with developers, contractors, and regulatory agencies.Lead environmental projects valued at $1M-$10M+, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget targets are met.Oversee the preparation and review of environmental permit applications.Serve as the primary liaison for clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies, ensuring smooth project execution and compliance.Advise project teams on environmental compliance issues and best practices.Manage relationships with stakeholders, including governmental agencies, clients, and community organizations.Provide training and guidance to staff on environmental compliance matters.Monitor changes in environmental regulations and assess their impacts on projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.8+ years of progressive experience in environmental consulting, with a focus on regulatory compliance, permitting, resource assessments (CEQA/NEPA), and environmental planning for large-scale projects, ensuring projects comply with all regulatory requirements.Experience managing large-scale utility, energy, transportation, or water projects, with a solutions-oriented approach to regulatory challenges and risk management.Experience mentoring and supervising teams, promoting professional growth, and fostering a collaborative, solution-focused work environment.Excellent project management skills and experience managing multiple large-scale projects simultaneously.
