Senior Environmental Data Management Specialist
Your Opportunity 

We have an immediate opportunity for a Senior Environmental Data Management Specialist to join our dynamic Environmental Remediation team in Walnut Creek, CA. The successful candidate will work independently as well as within the Information Services team to manage database systems, develop data management procedures, assist colleagues in performing data-related tasks, and networking with internal/external clients. 

As part of our Data Management Team, you will: 
Prepare proposals and data management estimates.
Liaise and coordinate with internal and external clients to provide data management solutions.
Provide mentorship to an existing group of data managers.
Work on a wide variety of environmental projects at a time, on sites located throughout the United States and internationally.
Manage and organize laboratory, field, spatial and geological data to ensure quality and consistency.
Maintain and query data using EQuIS, MS Access and MS SQL Server
Produce data reports using in-house software and/or specialized queries.
Assist in developing standards and procedures for data management process improvements.
Actively communicate and coordinate with project managers, laboratories, and/or other team members to acquire data packages of varying formats to be imported to a centralized database system. Your Capabilities and Credentials

The ideal candidate will possess the following: 

Strong expertise in relational database design and development.
Proficiency in SQL/t-sql and experience with SQL Server tools (SSMS, SSIS, SSRS).
Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and ETL processes
Proficient with EarthSoft EQuIS Proficient with MS Excel, advanced formulas, and VBA programming
Proficient with MS Power BI Platform to develop custom data reports and analytics (Desktop and Paginated Reports or SSRS)
Proficient in using and understanding Federal/Provincial/Municipal/State regulatory guidelines.
Exceptional attention to detail
Passion for working with data and have had exposure to environmental analytical and field data.
Strong problem-solving skills
Capable of working both independently and in a team environment
Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities, with ability to self-manage priorities, deadlines, and budgets.
Dedication to meet project deadlines in a timely manner.
Excellent verbal communication with peers, project managers and clients
Knowledge of ArcGIS and/or US EPA Scribe Software is considered an asset.

Education and Experience
A minimum of 10 years of related data management experience in the environmental or analytical chemistry sector.
B.A. or B.S. in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Chemistry, Geology, Database Management, or related field.

Additional Information Salary Range(s): Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s): Location Description: Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CA (SF Area includes SF, SJS & WLC) Min Pay Range: SF Area $118,900 Max Pay Range: SF Area $178,400 Note: The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
