Senior Environmental Engineer/Geologist/Scientist

Summary   UES Southeast Region is seeking an experienced senior-level Environmental Engineer/Geologist/Scientist to join our Environmental Services Department in Atlanta.  The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 10 years in environmental consulting.  The candidate will have extensive experience with environmental due diligence, remediation, proposal writing, and client interaction/management.  The candidate should have a successful track record of executing and managing environmental projects in Georgia.  Experience with Georgia EPD’s USTMP, Brownfield, HSRA, and VRP Programs is highly desirable.     The Ideal CandidateEnergetic – Passion and high energy for delivering results in a fast paced and high growth environment; autonomous, strong self-starter with a sense of urgency.Resourceful – Enjoys challenging projects, taking initiative to solve problems, and executing on deliverables.Creative – Able to tell an engaging story with an expertise in technical writing and the ability to incorporate case studies and state-of-the-art graphics.Team Player – Enjoys being on a team. Works well with others and brings a positive attitude.Adaptable – Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and remain flexible as business priorities change.  If this sounds like you, we invite you to keep reading and apply! Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesManage environmental projects, including site characterization, due diligence, property transactional services, remedial designs and implementation, and preparation of reports and other related documentation.Preparing technical reports, letters, memoranda, remedial design to address contaminated soil, groundwater, and sediment under a variety of regulatory programs with high attention to detail and quality.Interpreting environmental data and developing site-specific conceptual site models.Evaluating and designing remedial alternatives to address site contaminants.Environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance services, and permitting as required.Develop and network with new and existing clients to effectively position for and develop work opportunities.Prepare contract proposals and cost estimates.Manage project contracts, staff, budgets, and schedules.Perform, analyze and report on specific environmental project tasks under general supervision and research and recommend solutions to technical problems in accordance with accepted scientific/engineering practices and principles.Play an active role in the mentorship and development of junior and mid-level staff on environmental projects.

Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field.10 years of environmental consulting experience, with a strong focus on soil and groundwater assessments and remediation.P.G. or P.E. preferred.At least 10 years of direct environmental consulting experience, with a focus on investigation and remediation of soil and groundwater contamination.Knowledge of relevant environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.Working knowledge of federal & state environmental regulations (GAEPD USTMP, HSRA, Brownfield) and good research skills and abilities.Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills including strong proficiency in results oriented technical report writing with high attention to detail and quality.
