CIVIL & ENVIRONMENTAL PRACTICE

Our fields of expertise span all areas of civil engineering and include an extensive variety of specialty disciplines, such as environmental compliance and restoration, coastal engineering, urban development, and mining.

DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker is currently looking to continue to grow and enhance our Environmental Department in Moon Township, PA and we are seeking a motivated and dynamic Senior Environmental professional to be a part of our Team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Under supervision of Project Manager, assists in planning, direction, performance, and coordination activities of designated project to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame,  funding parameters and quality objectives.

Assists with assigning staff to projects, supervising the assigned technical / professional staff on a day- -to-day basis, reviewing budgets and schedules to identify existing or emerging problems. Manages personnel needs to maintain project efficiency and to see that all tasks are completed within schedule and budgets. Confer with project personnel to provide team building and problem resolution.  Coordinates with Project Manager in providing guidance and technical advice to project staff; evaluating performance; implementing corrective actions; and professional development to staff.  May assume entire Project Manager role on smaller single or on defined portions of larger projects.  Develops, leads, and executes field work in support of projects to include soil and water sampling, monitoring well installation and other general field tasks individually and working with a field team. As requested, prepares, and reviews the technical elements of proposals including scope, implementation, and scheduling projections. Evaluates data derived from pollution emission measurements, atmospheric monitoring, meteorological and mineralogical information, and soil, water or waste samples.  Works simultaneously on multiple tasks of varying size and complexity. Constructs moderately complex environmental tables using spreadsheet, database and word processing software and prepares graphs and charts from synthesized data. Develops moderately complex environmental reports to summarize existing environmental conditions, develops theories and recommends solutions. Under the direction of more experienced personnel, interacts with clients regarding project issues such as interviewing for site assessments. Attends CPR, First-Aid and hazardous operations training as required, observing all safety policies and procedures. Occasional to moderate travel to project sites may be required. Occasionally, international travel may be required.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Experience/ Education

5-7 years of experience in the duties outlined. BS in Geology, Environmental, Civil or Chemical Engineering

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical duties for field work activities include the ability to:

Walk over uneven terrain for extended portions of the workday in all weather conditions. Work in industrial environments. Wear specific PPE including hard hat, hearing and eye protection, etc. This position requires participation in a health monitoring program, the use of appropriate PPE and hazard mitigation planning.

Licenses / Registrations

Licensed as either a Professional Geologist or Professional Engineer

COMPENSATION 

The approximate compensation range for this position is $93,849 to $147,825.  This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.  Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
