**Job Description**
AECOM is actively seeking a collaborative and growth focused Senior Environmental Specialist to join our growing EHS team. The candidate will join a network of EHS & Air specialists across the US delivering consulting services to our key clients.
AECOM provides environmental due diligence and EHS compliance services for industrial, commercial, utility, federal, and state clients. We are seeking candidates well-versed in environmental due diligence as well as state and federal regulatory compliance who will contribute to the delivery of all phases of existing projects and development of creative solutions for new projects. The candidate is expected to perform various project management, sales, and growth responsibilities as a senior member of the Germantown, MD EHS team.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
+ Support business development initiatives and engage with clients.
+ Work with cross-business line groups, developing strategy and fostering growth.
+ Prepare proposals including technical work scopes, budgets, and schedules.
+ Collaborate with other licensed professionals, and other technical and regulatory specialists to track regulatory changes and technical advancements
+ Apply expertise and knowledge to solve business challenges.
+ Proactively identify opportunities to increase project efficiencies and add value to client service offerings
+ Interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate technical assignments.
+ Manage projects and/or programs within the EHS practice (environmental due diligence, environmental compliance reporting, environmental auditing, hazardous materials management).
+ Mentorship of mid- and junior level staff undertaking activities on these projects.
This position calls for excellent organizational and time management skills, flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn and incorporate new skills. We seek a candidate with the ability to communicate (orally and in writing) effectively with members of the project team (clients, regulators, office and site personnel). The successful candidate will also be committed to the team’s success and growth; will rigorously apply safety policies and procedures; and will effectively manage the quality of project deliverables within the bounds of the AECOM Quality Management System.
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or similar and 10+ years of recent relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education to include:
+ Experience building client relationships, business development and client management.
+ Competency in environmental due diligence; must qualify as an ASTM 1527-21 Environmental Professional.
+ Competency in environmental regulatory programs and compliance such as CAA, CWA, RCRA, EPCRA, NPDES, or SPCC.
+ Valid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review
+ Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Experience managing small to large size public and private sector projects.
+ Excellent writing and communication skills is a must.
+ Experience managing scope and budget, and staff administration and development.
+ Experience with project delivery and business development.
+ Experience mentoring a team of technical professionals.
+ Professional Engineer
+ Certified Hazardous Materials Manager
+ Certified Professional Environmental Auditor
+ Experience in developing scope, fee, and terms for proposals for interdisciplinary teams related to EHS and air services
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
+ Internally driven, self-starter, team oriented

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $100,000.00 - $160,000.00.
