**Position Summary**
We are seeking a Senior Environmental Specialist like you to join our Lake Charles, LA team.
As the Senior Environmental Specialist you will be responsible for ensuring environmental compliance with state and federal regulations and providing environmental support to Operations and Maintenance Teammates.
**Responsibilities**
+ Gathers and compiles data for required records and reports, assists in the preparation of semi-annual reports (MACT, NSPS and Title V)
+ Prepare waste manifests, conduct sampling for waste characterizations, profiling and registering waste streams.
+ Coordinate waste transportation, disposal and containers.
+ Prepare Annual Waste Summary and SARA Tier II report.
+ Coordinate cleaning, storage and disposal of equipment to ensure environmental compliance.
+ Coordinate and supervise the wastewater activities, sampling and monthly discharge monitoring reports.
+ Provide guidance to Utilities on Wastewater Operations.
+ Review management of change programs (MOC) for environmental compliance and provide guidance on all environmental issues.
+ Participate in process hazard analysis (PHA) as required.
+ Review, update procedures as required
+ Attend and participate in meetings, conferences, and seminar for legal and environmental issues.
+ Review environmental legal and regulatory updates and initiate EMS revisions or corrective actions as needed.
+ Determine and maintain current environmental regulatory applicability in all media.
+ Advises management, supervisors and employees in release and spill events.
+ Respond to spills, releases and emergency or after-hours issues.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, relevant sciences, or specific environmental discipline; or 3 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills and problem-solving ability.
+ Working knowledge of air, waste and water Environmental compliance programs associated with the chemical manufacturing industry is a plus, but entry-level experience will be considered.
