Position Description:
You will join a Systems Engineering team defining the next generation of space communication systems supporting Air Force Military Satellite Communications. You will support Systems Engineering & Integration activities in a multidisciplinary and collaborative environment. The Systems Integration Engineer will interface and collaborate with SE&I team members, contractors, government civilians and members of the USAF. The Systems Integration Engineer will lead and support several working groups responsible for leading technical discussion, resolve and identify risk, requirement gaps, developing briefings, writing and tracking action items, and authoring meeting minutes.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement integration strategies and processes to successfully integrate satellite communication systems, segments (Ground, Space, Crypto, Terminals), subsystems, elements, and components; manage the technical baselines among different stakeholdersPerform analysis of the systems requirements that define the technical baseline and verification of the technical baselineApply Digital Engineering methods and modeling strategies (i.e. Digital twins) to support integration and test activitiesWork with Government and contractor personnel to close gaps of customer requirements among the programs; support major requirements reviews, design reviews, and other associated meetingsLead and support Government/Contractor Working Group meetings—by developing briefings, leading discussion, and writing minutes—to address/resolve risks, issues, and action itemsReview proposed changes to the technical baseline for impacts to enterprise capabilities and to cross-stakeholder integration concernsDefine and deliver alternative of solutions to address different integration challenges; manage schedule impact and overall delivery of productsFacilitate review of program documents by providing comments, compiling other reviewer comments, and working with contractor to adjudicate the comments. Serve as a subject matter expert to assess technical issues and to prepare briefings to U.S. Space Force program office personnel and other stakeholders; provide courses of actions to support Government decisionsSupport management of risks, issues, interdependencies, identifying schedule disconnects and conflicts, developing action plans for resolution, and assisting the Government in executing selected solutions
Requirements:
Active Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearanceMS in technical field, such as engineering and computer science.15+ years demonstrated experience in Systems Engineering 10+ years demonstrated experience leading technical teamsStrong interpersonal skills, communication (oral and written), and presentation skillsProficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Due to security requirements, work is required to be on-site in a secure facility
Preferences:
PhD in technical field, such as engineering, mathematics, physics, or computer scienceExperience with MILSATCOM, such as AEHF, PTS, EPS, WGS, and FAB-T terminal programsExperience working with military and DoD civiliansExperience with ground and airborne systems, such as terminals and networksDemonstrated strong Systems Engineering and Technical Leadership experienceKnowledge and experience in Agile Development and collaboration tools (Jira/Confluence)
Salary Range: $140,000 - $200,000
