Senior Estimator
Job Summary: Panelmatic is seeking a dedicated and skilled Senior Estimator. The Senior Estimator is responsible for deciding the projected time frame needed to execute a project and additional factors like labor needs, materials, budgets, and potential setbacks. The Senior Estimator is responsible for evaluating project requirements and producing detailed cost estimates for Panelmatic projects. This role requires a thorough understanding of electrical systems, construction methods, and industry standards. The Senior Estimator collaborates with Sales, Project Managers, Engineering, Product Managers and Supply Chain to ensure on time accurate and competitive bids. As an ultimate team player, this position requires you to be a mentor to existing and new Estimators. This Position reports to the Corporate Estimating Manager. Job Duties: + Create an estimate using Estimating software from customer-supplied specifications and drawings + Researching, sourcing, negotiating, and obtaining the best prices and quotes from suppliers and subcontractors + Review project specifications, drawings, and other documents to gain a comprehensive understanding of the scope of work. + Create bills of material from electrical drawings and/or wiring diagrams + Create a letter of proposal to be delivered to the customer inclusive of BOM, pricing, and delivery date + Coaches and Mentors members of the Estimating team + Assessing the financial, technical, and operational risks of the projects + Determining what factors of production will influence the cost of a service or product + Manage and maintain relationships with company vendors and contractors + Presenting prepared estimates to management and other stakeholders for review + Meet quoting output requirements and on time delivery of proposals + Interface closely with customers, project managers and product managers to clarify scope + Input and maintain information listed in the database/ERP and CRM system for all quotes + Fill in customer forms and bid sheets as required + Follows company best practices in quality, safety, and communication Requirements Minimum Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience required + Eight years or more of experience in an estimator role required + Eight years or more of experience with analytic tools, such as spreadsheets and database managers required + Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings required + Three-plus years of experience in managing and maintaining quotations and opportunities in Salesforce required + Basic understanding of industrial codes, such as NEC, UL, IBC, etc. + Customer service centric required + Attention to detail required + Organizational and planning skills required + High levels of organizational and time management skills required + High levels of analytical, observational, and active listening skills required + Excellent communication skills both written and verbal required + Ability to pass physical, drug, driving, and background check required + Ability to physically push, pull, and lift 26lbs or more required + Ability to sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk for four plus hours at a time required + Alignment with company core values required Additional Qualifications: + Prior experience as an Estimator preferred + Advanced training in MS Office Suite preferred + AutoCAD experience preferred Benefits + Medical, dental, vision, HSA, term life, AD&D, STD, LTD + 100% medical premium paid for by Panelmatic for the employee-only level medical coverage + 80% paid for by Panelmatic and 20% paid for by the employee on all other level medical coverage (i.e. employee plus child, employee plus spouse, family) + 401K, profit sharing + Scholarships, educational reimbursement, paid volunteerism, and paid personal and professional development provided + PTO and paid holidays provided + Career advancement opportunities
