The Senior Estimator-C/S/A serves as lead civil, structural and architectural estimator for firm fixed price pursuit in coordination with the Senior Estimating Manager.

As a Senior Estimator, you will supervise a team of Estimators in an effort to price and bid multiple projects. You will work under an experienced professional that will provide you with opportunity to learn the department’s standard operating procedures and build strong relationships with the Preconstruction team. Responsibilities Reads plans and specifications and understand the requirements of the RFP focusing on the Civil, Structural, and Architectural, and other related specification sections Analyzes, quantifies, and provides cost estimates for the / scope of work. Inclusive of Gilbane’s General RequirementsDevelops accurate labor crews, crew productivity and provides input for project scheduleAdvises designers, in design-build projects, on solution with the lowest initial cost to meet the RFPWrites effective RFI’sCreates and coordinates comprehensive bid packages. Identifies and engages with C/S/A subcontractors throughout the bidding processCreates and distributes the C/S/A bid scope of work checklistCollects, analyzes, and compares competitive subcontract and supplier bidsDevelops and recommends appropriate risk register values for this scope of workTracks and reports on current material and labor prices, including escalationTracks and reports on current material and equipment to identity long-lead items QualificationsEXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management field and/or office experience equivalency7-10+ years relevant experienceExperience in Federal construction programs and markets is desired but not requiredLump Sum BiddingKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Extensive knowledge of Winest, On‐Screen Take‐off, and similar software for take‐offs and estimate pricing for C/S/A systems constructionSupportive computer skills for varied formats such as basic Windows applications plus pdf’s, TEAMS, Zoom, etc.Ability to present estimating deliverables to management and explain advantages in utilizing one contractor over another, scope gaps, cost swings, etc.Ability to conceptually estimate projects with limited informationAbility to estimate multiple facility types such as hospitals, hangars, office structures, specialized mission structures, base improvements, renovations, and additionsAbility to maintain healthy working relationships with industry partners (Owners, designers, subcontractors, etc.) for the development of estimating deliverablesSalary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
For Concord, CA, this ranges from $121,800 to $167,400 plus benefits and retirement program.
