Senior Estimator - Civil/Structural/Architectural (CSA) (Kansas City)

**Description**
The Senior Estimator - CSA will be responsible for leading estimates for engineering-only efforts, early feasibility studies and Construction Design-Build / EPC estimates and proposals for various projects within a diverse portfolio of project types, clients, and geographical regions. This position will assist clients in making fact-based decisions by presenting accurate estimates in a credible and professional manner while minimizing risk to the company.
+ Lead estimating strategy and implementation efforts for civil, structural and architectural scopes of work.
+ Coordinate with other estimating discipline leads to ensure no gaps and/or double ups exist within a given estimate/project.
+ Work with design leads to ensure efficiencies in constructability, schedule and cost
+ Review and approve project summary schedules for validity.
+ Manage workload scheduling to ensure the timely completion of deliverables.
+ Prepare supporting documents for risk review process.
+ Responsible for compliance with estimating methodology ensuring quality estimates are produced.
+ Lead project team review for estimating quantities and scope of project.
+ Prepare information and coordinate with the Insurance Dept. to obtain quotes on bonds and insurance.
+ Review and approve small and disadvantaged business solicitation and evaluations.
+ Lead subcontractor solicitation and pre-qualification reviews.
+ Responsible for reviewing specialty and standard equipment pricing.
+ Review and verify subcontractor bid packages before being transmitted for quotes.
+ Present the estimate to internal and external clients.
+ Responsible for the review of final estimate before management review and proposal presentation.
+ Lead estimating teams for completion of pre-construction services.
+ Responsible for cost history, database management and estimating process.
+ Prepare internal construction management staffing costs and indirect costs for review and approval by the project management team.
+ Make final recommendations regarding fee, contingency and escalation.
+ Coordinate with the group section manager to provide man hour quotes for required estimating effort.
+ Develop strategy on contract partnering agreements.
+ Prepare and present estimating data for risk review process.
+ Verify and approve estimates for joint venture reviews.
+ Review commercial terms and conditions and address risk issues.
+ Review and validate value engineering items, alternates and options.
+ Responsible for the accuracy and validity of estimate clarifications and assumptions.
+ Review documents for gaps and overlaps in scope of work.
+ Train and mentor staff.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
+ Complies with all policies and standards.
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field and 7 years of direct project estimating experience
+ Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
+ Ability to work independently or in groups, think creatively and analytically, and make quick and sound decisions
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
+ Expert with Microsoft Office, ConEst and K-base. Experience with InEight Estimating Software preferred.
+ OSHA 10-hour certification Required
