Basic Job Functions:

Duties of the successful candidate include but are not limited to the following:

Primary Function: Responsible for estimating project costs by reviewing proposals, drawings, and specifications. Tasks include quote take-offs, cost estimates, and communication with the engineering team and supporting departments to produce a competitive bid to the market. Evaluate product options by assessing material costs, labor impacts, and site requirements. Analyze documentation to understand project requirements and identify competitive advantages. Collaborate with engineering, sales, project management, and production teams to understand direct costs and maximize profit. Select, measure, and track key estimating metrics. Mentor and guide less experienced team members.

 

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of six (6) years working experience as an estimator Preferred Qualifications: Background in steel product design or manufacturing. Proficiency in using ERP systems to determine accurate cost analysis. Skilled in developing, implementing, or maintaining estimating software.
