Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and report on insurance cover arrangements, premiums, and recoveries in collaboration with the General Counsel. Liaise with brokers for documentation, coverage issues, and hull claims in coordination with the fleet operations team. Oversee the timely renewal of global insurance policies, including professional indemnity, workers' compensation, general liability, marine cargo, and others. Maintain and present claims records to support insurance renewals and arrange appropriate insurance programs with brokers. Address insurance queries, review policy wordings, and evaluate contracts to ensure coverage aligns with contractual terms, recommending or arranging additional coverage as needed. File and notify claims promptly, working with brokers, insurers, and adjusters to expedite recovery and maximize reimbursements. Analyze loss trends, recommend preventive measures, and provide monthly claims and incident reports to the General Counsel. Ideal Applicant:
3–5 years of insurance industry experience, with expertise in shipping-related policies such as Hull & Machinery, marine cargo, and professional indemnity. Strong knowledge of insurance terms, endorsements, exclusions, and policy costs. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities. Proven ability to inspire confidence across all organizational levels. Works well under pressure, meeting deadlines efficiently. Organized, logical, and detail-oriented approach to tasks and a collaborative team player with strong influencing skills. Positive, proactive problem-solver with creative thinking with adaptable mindset
