Senior Facility Coordinator
The Position

The Oceanside site is a large molecule drug substance facility delivering multiple commercially licensed life saving medicines as well as a pivotal/launch site, responsible for delivering Genentech/Roche pipeline products at clinical and commercial launch phases.There are many exciting advancements happening at the Oceanside campus, including constructing a new small-batch biologics facility at the forefront of next-generation, innovative manufacturing and environmentally sustainable production.

We are looking for an individual who is ready to learn, collaborate, and create solutions that will serve the expanding needs of the existing operations as well as the new biologics facility. The ability to collaborate is crucial, and success in the role will require the individual to thrive in a team environment and not act solely as an individual contributor.  


As the Senior Facility Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting and providing technical advice related to repair, maintenance activities of cGMP production equipment, clean utilities and systems associated with Manufacturing operations. Provide guidance, training as necessary to ensure a broad base of knowledge within the Maintenance group. Review operating parameters and direct changes and modifications while working with the RE’s (Responsible Engineers) on systems and equipment as necessary.

The Opportunity

Provide technical expertise for troubleshooting and repairing equipment failures; perform hands-on technical troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical equipment when required.

Conduct Vendor Quality Audits, oversee vendor quality issues, and review and evaluate contract services to ensure maintenance needs are met and make recommendations for contract renewals or cancellations.

Revise or establish new procedures for the Preventive Maintenance program to comply with cGMP requirements and focus on overseeing preventive maintenance and repairs as part of a cross-functional team including Engineering, Automation, and Project teams.

Review purchase orders for repair materials and parts, provide oversight for maintenance activities, and assist the Engineering group with engineering revisions, change requests, and software upgrades.

Support Maintenance groups and Engineering with data analysis and reports, identify spare parts, and troubleshoot, revise, and implement process improvements on equipment and process flows.

All employees with jobs that require access to the Warehouse must be able to pass the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Security Threat Assessment (STA).

Follows established safety and environmental guidelines and procedures for all work performed. Immediately reports safety and environmental incidents including injuries, illnesses, near misses, and safety suggestions. Fosters a positive safety culture in which no one gets hurt.

Who you are

Education and Experience

A/A degree along with a Facilities Management Certificate with 5 years experience in the areas of manufacturing, engineering and/or Facilities Maintenance.

OR Bachelor’s degree with 2-4 years experience OR Masters Degree with 1-2 years experience

7 years experience in the areas of manufacturing, engineering and/or Facilities Maintenance.

3 years working in a cGMP, manufacturing environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, Calman, and SAP, as well as the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

Thorough knowledge of Facilities mechanical, HVAC, Central Plant, Clean Rooms, BCMS, Instrument Services, and Life Safety Systems, with the capability to work independently with minimal supervision and adapt to rapidly changing priorities

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a demonstrated ability to lead, communicate, and collaborate effectively to achieve departmental and corporate goals

Strong organizational and customer service skills, emphasizing the ability to interact with and train people of diverse backgrounds and skill levels, while managing multiple tasks with changing priorities

Work Environment/Physical Demands/Safety Considerations

Works in standard office environment May be expected to be on feet for up to 2 to 4 hours a day.

May climb upwards of 6 flights of stairs to maneuver within the manufacturing facility.

Lifting up to 50lbs may be required.

Environment requires that gowning in the form of hospital scrubs, bunny suits, gloves and steel toe boots be worn. No make up or jewelry can be worn when working in the clean room environment.

May work with hazardous materials and chemicals.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $75,300-$139,900.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.  This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
