Job Description

As a Senior Facility Project Manager, reporting to the Manager of Projects, you will provide overall management and direction for several projects and successfully take responsibility for overall project performance including costs, schedule, quality, project status and clients’ satisfaction. The incumbent may oversee other project team members, project managers, project coordinators, superintendents, project engineers, quality control inspectors, while maintaining relationships with sub-trades and clients. The position involves subcontractor negotiations, liaising with owners, architects, engineers, and sub-trades as well as management of changes, technical and financial aspects of contracts.  The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that the project is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with the Contract requirements, Company Policies and Procedures, and legislation and labor requirements. The incumbent may also lead and/or participate in, hiring other project team members.

Your work will include:

Overseeing all phases of the projects from design, estimating, manufacturing, construction and installationDeveloping and monitoring the project schedule, budget, reporting any deviation and providing solutions to get on trackManaging construction budgets, analyzing, negotiating and approving requisitions, change orders, other invoices associated with the project and integrating any impact of any changes into the project overall planEstablishing construction plans and engineering methodsIdentifying project risks, problems and issues as early as possible; ensuring mitigating actions are in place to minimize impactHandling all change orders, including negotiating, processing and assessing cost and schedule impactsEnsuring project profitabilityUnderstanding and enforcing contractual responsibilities, contract documents and resolving disputesCoordinating and ensuring compliance of all applicable Quality Control/Quality Assurance requirements and building codesHiring, Managing, mentoring and coaching project team

QualificationsBachelor or preferably Master’s degree in project management, construction management, architecture, engineering, or in any related disciplinesA minimum of 7 years’ project management experience managing a facility at least 876 sq ftMust possess an active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.Proven experience managing medium to large projectsContract law knowledge and contract management experienceComputer proficiency – Microsoft Office- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Scheduling Software: MS Project and/or Primavera
