Senior Federal Program Manager

As a Senior Federal Program Manager to lead and manage federal projects, overseeing customer expectations, and a team of engineers. This role requires a seasoned professional with strong leadership skills, technical understanding, and the ability to allocate resources effectively while maintaining compliance. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in federal program management, exceptional communication skills, and is eligible for or holds an active TS/SCI CI Poly security clearance.

Responsibilities:

Lead end-to-end program management for federal customer initiatives, ensuring project goals, schedules, and budgets align with customer expectations. Set and manage customer expectations through regular communication, transparent progress updates, and proactive issue resolution. Supervise a team of engineers and other technical professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative environment. Assess project needs and allocate resources effectively, ensuring team members are optimally assigned to tasks based on skills and project requirements. Negotiate contract terms, program objectives, and resource needs with clients and vendors, aligning them with budget and timeline constraints. Identify program risks and develop mitigation strategies, ensuring project goals are met while managing potential challenges proactively.

Requirements:

Program management experience, focused on federal programs.  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Program Management, or a related field. A master’s degree or PMP certification is a strong advantage. Proven experience managing and leading cross-functional teams, including technical and engineering staff, with a focus on mentoring and team-building. Skilled in setting and managing customer expectations, handling client communications, and navigating customer relations effectively. Experience negotiating project scope, contracts, and resources with both internal and external stakeholders. Solid grasp of engineering principles and project requirements, with the ability to understand technical details and allocate work accordingly. Ability to identify potential program challenges early, analyze complex situations, and develop strategic solutions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
