UV-Vis-NIR / Fluorescence Sr. Field Applications Scientist

The Field Application Scientist (FAS) will work with Sales Representatives to achieve instrument sales goals by applying scientific knowledge of UV/VIS/NIR and Fluorescence technologies. These instruments are used across a diverse range of markets, including Engineered Materials, Optics, and Pharmaceuticals.
Location: This position will be REMOTE but candidate must reside near the Shelton, Connecticut area for meetings on occasion.
This FAS position is the key applications support person for the Northeastern United States, providing:
Customer demonstrations, analyze samples, generate professional reports, and present results and solutions which best address customers’ challengesAssembling and delivering technical product presentations (to individual prospects and seminar/tradeshow audiences) in poster or oral technical sessionsTraining and applications implementationOngoing feedback to Product Line Leaders and Product Managers on emerging applications, trends, performance and competitive landscapeDeveloping application notes based on market needsMust possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving recordThis role will travel up to 50% throughout the yearBasicRequirements:
Master’s with 5+ years of post-academic experience3+ years’ hands-on experience with advanced optical spectroscopic characterization techniques, including variable-angle reflection and transmission-type measurements within the UV-Vis-NIR spectral ranges3+ years' experience with Shimadzu 3600 or 3700, Agilent Cary 5000 or 6000, or PerkinElmer Lambda 650, 750, 850, 950, or 1050.Remote but must reside in driving distance from Shelton, CT for occasional meetings.Preferred Requirements:
PHD in relevant discipline.A strong mix of scientific expertise and excellent communication skills is required.Strong technical communication skills (written and spoken)Applicant must have working knowledge of optical measurements on materials utilizing UV/VIS/NIR and Fluorescence technologiesFamiliarity with polarized optical measurementsExperience with UV/Vis/NIR measurement techniques for optics, including filters, lenses, mirrors, and coatings.PerkinElmer is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. The annual compensation range for this full-time position is $101k to $152k. The final base pay offered to the successful candidate will be determined by factors including internal equity, work location, as well as individual qualifications, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training
