PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Senior Field Engineer at Worley is integral to ensuring our projects are executed seamlessly from design to completion. This role provides essential engineering resources and expertise during the construction phases of our projects, interpreting and adjusting designs to meet on-site conditions. The Senior Field Engineer ensures that all construction tasks align with design specifications and are completed to the highest standards. As a key player in our field operations, this role also provides leadership and technical consultation, driving our mission to deliver sustainable change.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop/build flipbooks, build plans, procedures, and scopes of work.

Design Interpretation and Adjustment\:  Analyze and interpret design specifications, making necessary adjustments to accommodate on-site conditions. Ensure all modifications align with project goals and sustainability objectives.

Construction Supervision\:  Oversee and guide construction activities, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards. Provide on-site solutions to technical challenges.

Final Approval\:  Conduct thorough inspections and provide final approval for completed construction tasks, verifying they meet the required specifications and standards.

Technical Consultation\:  Act as a technical specialist in field engineering, providing expert advice and consultation to both engineering and construction site management.

Leadership and Guidance\:  Lead project teams, assigning work, providing technical guidance, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within scope. May supervise direct reports and conduct performance evaluations.

Decision Making\:  Make independent decisions and recommendations for large independent projects or several smaller projects. Consider financial, social, environmental, and organizational impacts in decision-making processes.

Communication and Reporting\:  Prepare and deliver proposals, presentations, and reports. Effectively communicate complex technical matters to stakeholders, ensuring clarity and understanding.

Systems, Processes, and Tools\:  Utilize and assist others with systems, processes, and tools related to field engineering. Troubleshoot and resolve issues to maintain project efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILL SET

Education\:  A university degree in a related field or an equivalent trade qualification combined with relevant training and experience. Candidates with a degree typically have over seven years of relevant experience, while those with trade qualifications typically have over twelve years of relevant experience.

Technical Proficiency\:  Advanced proficiency in Power BI, Word, and Excel, with a strong understanding of field-related systems, processes, and tools.

Experience\:  Extensive experience in field engineering, with a proven track record of providing technical consultation and making informed decisions in large-scale construction projects.

Leadership\:  Demonstrated ability to lead project teams, provide technical guidance, and manage direct reports. Experience in performance evaluations and project supervision.

Communication\:  Exceptional skills in informing and persuading stakeholders on complex technical matters through well-prepared proposals, presentations, and reports.

Problem-Solving\:  Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on-site, ensuring projects adhere to design specifications and quality standards.
