Senior Finance Manager - TDCJ Finance **Friendswood, Texas, United States** Business, Managerial & Finance UTMB Health Requisition # 2405397 **Minimum Qualifications:** Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent in a related field and at least 7 years of relevant work experience. **Job Summary:** Manages and assists the Vice President in financial and operational analysis activities with a complex functional or broad organizational scope. The senior manager will be able to assist in multiple activities at one time with little supervision. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Healthcare System Accounting, Reporting, and Analysis experience + Proficiency in BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik for data visualization and reporting. + Working with large complex databases and able to translate raw data into meaningful insights and actionable recommendations. + Understanding data flow and knowledge of accounting, inventory, and other systems. + CPA **Departmental Functions:** · Health System Accounting, including Patient Revenue and other relevant healthcare system accounting and reporting. · Providing financial accounting and reporting services for UTMB Hospitals and Clinics, UTMB Academic Enterprise related to the Practice Plan net patient care revenue, and UTMB HealthCare Systems. · Accounting functions including preparing and posting entries for month-end close, reviewing financial data including volume and price variances, assisting with audit requests, and supporting UTMB departments regarding financial data requests and questions concerning financial statements. · Reporting functions including coordinating and completing health system-related surveys, review, and preparation of various internal and external financial reports. · Budgeting and forecasting, financial presentations, training, and coordination with departments across the Institution. **Job Duties:** + Assists the VP with department operations including departmental budget, staffing, and special projects. + Maintains a documented system of policies and procedures. + Supervises the coordination, preparation, and analysis of complex financial and operational reports, financial statements, scorecards, metrics, benchmarks, budgets, and financial forecasts across multiple areas. + Oversees and validates complex analysis of historical and projected financial and operational data to provide leadership information to make relevant financial decisions. + Manages and validates information to support developing trends that will inform forecasts and management decision-making. + Identifies and utilizes technology and best practices to ensure continuous process improvement. + Oversees the quality assurance functions of financial data and statistical information. + Recruits, hires, evaluates, develops, mentors, and provides performance feedback to employees. + Remains current with and progressively learns industry trends, analytical techniques and appropriate financial systems necessary to complete essential job functions. + Participates in the development of and adheres to internal controls and reporting structure. + Performs related duties as assigned. **Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:** + Possess and demonstrate advanced knowledge and understanding, with progressive development, of financial statements and relationships, analytical techniques, operations, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, practices, and procedures. + Progressive development of the ability to analyze/evaluate data. + Must possess excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively work and communicate with individuals at all levels of the institution. + Possess advanced decision-making skills. + Possess critical thinking skills. + Strong organizational and planning skills. + Effective problem-solving skills. + Ability to develop, communicate, and accomplish goals. + Ability to develop and deliver presentations. + Demonstrates a high degree of professionalism. **Salary Range:** Actual salary commensurate with experience. **Work Schedule:** On-site, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, and as needed on occasion. **Equal Employment Opportunity** UTMB Health strives to provide equal opportunity employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, national origin, sex, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, genetic information, disability, veteran status, or any other basis protected by institutional policy or by federal, state or local laws unless such distinction is required by law.
