ACCOUNTING and COMPLIANCE
 

Responsible for ensuring statutory accounting and tax compliance requirements are met for the company with a focus on South AfricaResponsible for ensuring all accounting month-end activities are completed as per the global accounting calendarFacilitate the process of analysis and approval of annual FS, tax returns, and other financial and compliance reportsEnsuring accurate reconciliation of statutory financial statements with the group GAAP reports and ensuring compliance with the local IFRSWorking with local BPOs to ensure high-quality statutory compliance management and resolution of any significant compliance mattersCo-ordinate and facilitate the annual financial audit process for the local and group auditsPrepare and provide detailed relevant information for all BEE strategic initiativesMonitor and resolve all SARS queries including tax audits to ensure compliance is maintained
 

FP&A
 

Assistance in preparing periodic management reports which contain key information for decision making process, such as analysis of historical financials, variance explanations, updated forecasts with risks and opportunities, KPIs, etc.Working with regional FP&A team to ensure the top management’s strategic plan is accurately represented in the regional financial and operating plans
 

TREASURY 
 

Managing relationships with local banks and other financial institutionsPreparation of the cash flow statementsReview of Foreign Exchange TransactionsMonitor daily cash balances and determine cash requirements.
 

Other
 

Resolving disputes and inquiries from other departmentsAssisting in internal and external audits as neededWorking closely with the direct manager to ensure the smooth running of all financial mattersWorking closely with other finance teams including Shared Service Centers, Revenue Assurance and Treasury
 

Qualifications
 

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance8+ years’ finance experience (beneficial if in an international company)Internationally recognized accounting professional qualifications (CPA, CFA, CMA) - preferableArticles served at Big 4 - preferableExcellent analytical skills with strong attention to detailHighly inquisitive mindset with an aptitude for numbersExcellent communication skills (verbal and written)
