Job Summary
Senior Financial Accountant DACH is a key role supporting the DACH region primarily but also other countries of EMEA region. This role has primary responsibility for preparation and support of various aspects of the monthly close process, preparing statutory accounts, managing audits, support tax provision and tax filling, following global accounting policies and other ad-hoc projects for the region.
This role faces several key customers as part of both daily responsibilities and as part of project teams, including Finance, Business Unit Finance, Tax, Treasury, Legal and Corporate Accounting.
Essential Functions
Lead the preparation and maintenance of accurate and timely monthly reporting and statutory accounts in compliance with relevant regulations and standards mainly for German entities. Support the EMEA FI Team with tax provision and reconciliation. VAT preparation for DACH entities and occasional support for other countries when needed. Providing oversight on certain control reviews and control implementation. Working with External Auditors to support Avient’s audit requirements. Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the finance function, implementing best practices to enhance productivity and accuracy. Support regional and corporate initiatives. Other projects according to business requirements.Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. 5 years + experience in Accounting and Corporate Income Tax with preference experience with a Big 4.Additional Qualifications
Income Tax and VAT practical knowledge. Proficiency in written and spoken English and any other European language is a strong asset such as German. Strong communication skills. Organizational skills, a self-starter with high level of analytical skills and resilience. Working knowledge of SAP highly desirable. US GAAP, Gaaps in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. DesirableACCA or local equivalent completed Experience with SOX Compliance Working knowledge of Hyperion, SAP and S4Hana
