Amazon Freight Finance is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Financial Analyst to join its Transportation Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to create and innovate on behalf of our customers and build the transportation experience of the future. This role will have heavy impact and high visibility to the long term strategy for the business, and it will require strong partnership with the Operations teams as well as Finance, Accounting and Technology. Experience with this team opens up amazing career opportunities across Amazon, such as senior roles supporting an impressive array of business areas, project management roles, and/or management opportunities locally, regionally, and globally. The role will require an individual to deep dive into business input drivers, dive into complex data pool, and use insights to influence business decisions. The role is ideally suited for a candidate who has demonstrated strong financial modeling and statistical analysis alongside strong verbal and written skills. If you like taking a larger scope identifying the most cost effective and safest way to deliver to our customer you will enjoy transportation. This entire system has to move like a symphony and it has to be orchestrated. It is an incredible math problem that we have to solve; we have to put statistics and financial models behind it. In this role you will have a high level of visibility and partner with cross functional teams. We help others understand finance and are the trusted business advisors to our business teams. We are looking for a leader who exhibits excellent attention to detail and is comfortable with ambiguity. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to partner with business owners, support thoughtful decision-making, and adapt to a rapidly evolving environment. Regular collaboration with leaders and various business units across Amazon will allow you the opportunity to exhibit your verbal and written communication skills. A typical day in this role provides an opportunity to improve and create new measures for business effectiveness, innovate creative solutions utilizing large scale data mining tools, and identify high priority projects to maximize results for key stakeholders. Key job responsibilities - Drive the core financial processes for the organization including Annual Operating Plans, 3 year Strategic Plan, and Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews - Educate business partners on financial and non-financial trade-offs, and make thoughtful judgement calls in ambiguous environments where data may be scarce or difficult to procure. - Partner with senior business leaders and develop operational metrics and goal setting to help the team improve performance - Use active listening skills intuitively to communicate data (both written and verbal) in a clear, concise, and unambiguous manner. Adjust style for various audiences to articulate complex finance issues clearly. Your communications drive critical business decisions. - Analyze ROI of different programs/initiatives and generate actionable insights from large amounts of data - Have backbone, disagree and commit to foster constructive dialogues, harmonize conflicting views, resolve issues, and drive decisions. A day in the life In the day-to-day activities, you will be talking to business partners at all levels understand their requirements on financial analysis and reporting and executing them to be delivered. You will also have your regular weekly and monthly close, reporting and analysis work. Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science) - 3+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience Preferred Qualifications - Knowledge of Tableau - Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards) - CPA, or MBA Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
