Description
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to be a key partner supporting our Global Services business. We are looking for an entrepreneurial, analytical, creative, flexible finance leader to help us redefine the tech industry. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will work side by side with business and finance leaders leveraging your team to develop business strategies, financial models, and analytical insights while establishing the processes and mechanisms necessary to deliver work efficiently.
The successful candidate will be strategic, analytical, and have a demonstrated ability to influence the decisions of senior business leaders through effective verbal and written communication, financial analyses, logical reasoning, and the presentation of alternatives. The role operates in a global, results-oriented environment and will provide decision support and advice for key business leaders.
Key job responsibilities
• Drive alignment across Senior leadership and various finance groups including Services, Infra and SMGS on GS investments
• Provide strategic support to key business initiatives and investment
• Play a critical role in cost management, controllership, business case development, decision-making, and metrics development
• Identify financial improvements, deep dive on investments, with a keen eye on scaling for future growth and improving our customer experience
• Develop new performance metrics and rhythm of the business processes to drive accountability and controllership
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Tableau
- Highly analytical, detail oriented and strong business sense; proven ability to develop new ideas, creative solutions and demonstrated experience implementing such mechanisms to results
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
