The Sr. Financial Planning Analyst will partner with business teams to understand operational plans and build financial models that enable better decision making. This role will provide analysis and insight into operating results, trends and opportunities for improvement. The Sr. Analyst will help drive the budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes. This position is part of the Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis function reporting to the Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis Shared Services and works closely with others in the team as well as across other departments. The Sr. Financial Planning Analyst must have strong analytical capabilities, the ability to collaborate with business leaders, and strong communications skills. 

Highlights of your role

Financial Management, Reporting, and Analysis 

Complete variance reporting with a concise explanation to identify changes in Shared Services departments. Develop and/or aid in the creation of variance analysis tools.Maintain an understanding of the financial positions and conditions of the various Shared Services teams.Ensures that Shared Services teams' expenses are monitored throughout the fiscal year, while also meeting processing deadlines.Meets with and serves as a subject matter expert and finance resource for Shared Services staff.Gathers information from various sources to draw conclusions, change processes, procedures, reporting, and/or theorize downstream impacts.Defines problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draws conclusions with direction (as needed from others). Interpret data to determine fiscal year performance and project future financial trends. Examine and interpret fiscal patterns to anticipate future expenditures. Analyze financial data from multiple systems.Identifies processes that are weak or non-existent and collaborates with leadership to establish corrective action plans. Conducts financial analysis and reviews procedures and systems to determine suitable solutions. 

Financial Planning 

Develop and oversee/coordinate changes to the budget forecast models for the Shared Services teams.Lead the development and review of business plans prepared by Shared Services leaders.Direct the budget and forecast preparation processes for Shared Services.Responsible for completing the budget for designated Shared Service teams. 

Training Responsibilities 

Assist the Finance Manager in building and maintaining training materials to onboard new employees from the Shared Service department into all finance-related activities.Identify training needs within the Shared Services departments and create the necessary content to facilitate trainings.  You're a good fit if you have (or if you can) Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, math, or related field Experience working within a manufacturing organization preferred Superior use of excel including macros, pivot tables, and v-lookups as well as business intelligence tools such as Qlik, Tableau, or Spotfire High attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to meet deadlines Exchanges non-routine information using tact and persuasion as appropriate requiring good oral and written communication skills  We invite you to See Yourself at Marvin
