Position Summary:

Performs complex analytical and cost accounting functions related to financial reporting, analysis and interpretation, and provides input to management and guidance to other finance department personnel with respect to these functions. Oversees and analyzes standard costs and cost performance. Reports to the Controller.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Planning, studying, and collecting data to determine costs of business activityLeading product cost development, activity rates, cost performance calculations, and annual update of standard costsAssisting in creating budgets and forecastsAnalyzing cost variance reports and profitability by item and customerAnalyzing changes in product design, raw materials, and manufacturing methods or services provided, to determine effects on costAnalyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing daily/weekly/periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costsRecording cost information for use in controlling expendituresAnalyzing audits of costs and preparing reportsMaking estimates of new and proposed product costsProviding management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or servicesMaintaining cost accounting data in ERP systemAssisting in month-end close of the general ledger

Required Skills:

Must have a strong cost systems background and have excellent analytical skillsSound understanding of generally accepted accounting principlesComputer literate with strong Excel skillsExperience with ERP systems, Syteline-specific a plusExperience working with engineering and manufacturing personnel on development and analysis of cost standardsAbility to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports

 

Required Experience and Education:
