As part of the APAC Global Network Services (GNS) Finance Team, the Senior Financial Analyst will be a key finance reference for various local business teams across Japan, Korea, India and South-East Asia. GNS operates in all regions globally to drive scale and relevance for the American Express Brand and is responsible for managing a growing portfolio of bank partners across numerous countries and territories. These bank partners acquire merchants on behalf of American Express and/or issue personal and/or commercial cards to customers in that country.
**How will you make an impact in this role?**
The Senior Financial Analyst will play a critical role in data transformation, standardizing investment reporting and decision support, partner deal analysis, strategic projects and financial planning. In this role, the candidate will focus their time on:
+ Partnering closely with the APAC GNS organization: providing deep dive analytics on partner or product level to influence strategic decisions that drive efficient growth, optimizing deal economics, supporting investment discussions, and analyzing outcomes.
+ Working across business functions to explore revenue and profit contribution initiatives, and driving strategic focus on trade-offs.
+ Supporting the recurring performance analytics process, leading efforts to deliver insightful commentary and data driven recommendations.
+ Providing ongoing support for effective tracking and forecasting of financial performance, including P&L and trend analytics.
The successful candidate will actively engage business stakeholders, provide financial leadership while partnering to model deal economics and create insightful market specific analysis. Further, by leveraging effective financial frameworks, will provide detailed profitability attribution, and develop recommendations on growth opportunities with a high degree of independence.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Experience in Finance, data analytics, strategy, or consulting.
+ Confidence to voice opinions, develop a point of view in meetings & discussions, and seek clarification with senior leaders.
+ Strong communication skills, both written and oral; demonstrated ability to partner and collaborate with senior leaders and cross-functional teams and to understand key business issues and concerns from multiple perspectives.
+ Capable of managing multiple tasks concurrently; effective at prioritizing multiple work-streams and meeting internal and external partner deadlines.
+ Strong relationship building skills and capable of driving results across teams.
+ Exceptional data analytics and modeling experience from data creation to construction and ownership of complex, scenario driven and dynamic financial models. Ability to organize and analyze large amounts of data.
+ Experience with TM1, Oracle, Tableau, Power BI, Cornerstone.
