Position Summary:

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join our dynamic finance team. This role will primarily support consolidation activities and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting & analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial analysis, consolidation, and reporting processes, demonstrating an acute attention to detail and a dedication to excellence.

This role is a key member of the team responsible for business partner support as well as supporting key operating mechanisms for Cell Biology business unit (BU) within Bioscience Division. This role will be providing strategic financial support, analysis, strategic modelling, overall reporting insight and guidance to the BU Leadership Team. This includes trend analysis, revenue anlaytics, monthly reporting and forecasting, and investment case analysis.  In addition, this role will be supporting key operating mechanisms in the business such as forecasting, monthly business reviews, AOP, and STRAP. This individual will also actively support the Cell Bio NA commercial TSS team and act as the main finance partner of the Cell Bio commercial leader. The role is based in Carlsbad, CA and will report to a Senior Finance Manager.

Key Responsibilities:Lead the consolidation and reporting of monthly actuals and forecasting of Cell Biology business unitAssist with the preparation of monthly business reviews and drive key operating mechanisms within the businessWork closely with commercial, operations, and the business to identify areas to accelerate growth and drive productivityPrepare and present consolidated business performance deck to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for strategic decision-makingSupport Ad-hoc internal, Group, and Corporate requests as neededLeverage and build upon data warehouse reporting through robust and intuitive PowerBI dashboardsDemonstrate FP&A role model leadership with timely, accurate, and valuable information.Drive a continuous improvement approach with a focus on automation, enhancing processes, and elevating business partner support where applicableCultivate relationship with the Division FP&A and Systems team to drive reporting integrity and accuracy.Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (CPA and/or MBA preferred)5+ years of professional experience in FP&A within a large, multi-national companyFull comprehension of financial documents and how to use them to analyze a businessHyperion Enterprise and ERP system (e.g. SAP, HFM) experience strongly preferred; Power user of Excel, proficient in MS Office Word, PowerPoint and Power BI.Demonstrated experience in a complex, multinational, heavily matrixed organization and confidence to interact with all levels of the organizationStrong leadership, problem solving, and team-oriented with collaborative styleStrong written and verbal communication and the ability to interpret and summarize financial analysis results in a clear, concise, and accurate mannerStrong business partner with critical thinking and data-driven analytical skillsDesire to formulate and drive improvements in execution, with confidence to challenge current processes

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $103,100.00–$160,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
