Job Scope

The Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) will play a key role in supporting the business. They will provide value-added financial planning, forecasting, reporting, operational and margin analysis and other strategic ad-hoc analysis of a complex nature to enhance company and business unit decision-making. Strong analytical, communication and organizational skills as well as experience in a fast-paced engineering and light manufacturing environment are keys to success in this position.

The SFA will have the ability to tackle multiple projects and efficiently execute deliverables. They will have a nose for continuous improvement, capable of driving results and enhancing processes and visibility into the business. The SFA must be a self-starter and able to think and act both strategically and tactically. Strong verbal and written communication skills are crucial, as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve and prioritize.

Duties/Responsibilities

Develop, report and present accurate, timely and actionable financial and business metrics for monthly, quarterly and annual reviewsConstruct P&L variance analyses of actuals vs. budget/forecast vs. prior year with an in depth understanding of driversEstablish recurring trending revenue, cost, and margin analytics over various time periodsProvide complex analysis in support of diverse corporate objectives that incorporates all aspects of the business, helping establish and maintain KPIs with business partnerCommunicate insights that translate into initiatives to drive growth and improved business performanceManage the financial planning/budgeting process for assigned segments, with an acute comprehension around the qualitative narrative that drives the numbersMonitor and enhance existing process and controlsDevelop ad hoc business analysis and present recommendations to department and business unit leadersOwn and facilitate cross-functional business models in support of new product developmentRegularly work on multiple projects with aggressive deadlines

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or business required. MBA preferred5-7 years of experience as a financial analyst or a similar roleAdvanced level of proficiency with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and OutlookERP/CPM/Visualization Tool experience required: SAP, Planful and PowerBI experience preferredDemonstrated ability as a systems thinker, partnering with IT to promote efficient and scalable tools and process analysis in support of corporate goalsDemonstrated ability to analyze complex data, generate alternatives and clearly communicate salient findings to diverse audiences to drive positive changeAbility to challenge current strategies or objectives and propose alternative recommendations, as necessary, based on in depth knowledge of analytical methods and approachesFunctional understanding of US GAAP and how it applies to financial planning and analysisAbility to quickly distill complex findings and concepts into key data points and visualizationsTeam player with strong interpersonal skillsProven record of strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to prioritize assignments and work effectively under time constraints
