Join Team Amex and let's lead the way together. **Role Summary** This position reports to the Manager - Business Planning & Financial Analysis in AXP’s General Counsel Organization (GCO) and will provide comprehensive financial analysis and operational support for managing counsel groups. The Senior Financial Analyst will play a critical role as a backup system administrator for the outside counsel legal invoice e-billing and matter management system (Thomson Reuters Legal Tracker), support financial planning and analysis activities, and contribute to strategic initiatives through project management and innovative problem-solving. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. Financial Analysis & Reporting 2. Prepare financial reports, track outside counsel expenses, and analyze budget trends for effective decision-making. 3. Support quarterly and year-end processes, including accrual preparation. 4. Collaborate with GCO attorneys and finance colleagues to deliver insightful forecasting and results analysis. 5. Leverage tools to automate processes and enhance data analytics. 6. System Administration & Operational Support 7. Act as the backup system administrator for TR Legal Tracker, handling user management, access requests, and ad hoc report generation. 8. Assist in maintaining the integrity of the e-billing and matter management system, ensuring robust controls and accurate data reporting. 9. Monitor and address outside counsel invoice discrepancies, ensuring adherence to GCO policies and guidelines. 10. Communicate with law firms to address billing inquiries and enforce compliance with company standards. 11. Relationship Building & Collaboration 12. Build and maintain strong relationships across the General Counsel Organization, with external law firms, and internal business partners. 13. Act as a consultative partner, summarizing data into actionable insights for stakeholders and leadership. 14. Support internal GCO group budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities. **How will you make an impact in this role?** As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in driving financial efficiency and operational excellence within the General Counsel Organization. Your analytical insights and proactive approach will ideally continue to help streamline processes and support key decision making. By leveraging your project management skills and collaborative mindset, you will contribute to the organization's strategic initiatives and deliver impactful analysis and solutions that align with the enterprise goals. **Minimum Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. + 3 years of experience in a financial analysis role. + Strong analytical skills with the ability to manipulate and interpret a variety of datasets. + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced) and other reporting tools; experience with e-billing systems like TR Legal Tracker is a plus. + Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. + A self-starter with strong organizational skills, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. + Demonstrated project management skills, with a proven ability to take initiative and drive outcomes. + Exceptional attention to detail, financial acumen, and problem-solving skills. **Qualifications** Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually bonus benefits The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
