Job DescriptionUniversal Theatrical Group (UTG) is the live-theatre arm of NBCUniversal, currently represented by Wicked on Broadway, US Tour, London, Australian Tour, and UK Tour, with Death Becomes Her opening in 2024. Past shows in the UTG catalog include Billy Elliot, The Prince of Egypt, Bring it On, Shrek the Musical, and Holiday Inn.
The Senior Financial Analyst will work with the Universal Production Operations & Finance team that is responsible for all finance activities related to Universal’s stage productions including budgeting, forecasting, periodic reporting, production, licensing, development and process improvement. This role reports to the Director of Production & Finance and works with Universal Theatrical Group’s Creative team and Controllership, as well as external General Managers, Accountants and Stakeholders, and must be able to work well with all levels in a corporate function and with production personnel. The qualified candidate must be able to multi-task and balance priorities on competing initiatives. A background in the live theatre business is helpful.
Essential Responsibilities:
Update forecasting models for all productions and assist with preparation of annual BudgetIdentify business trends by analyzing industry data and changes in box office results and costs for each productionCollaborate with management on the preparation of monthly financial results and industry highlights for senior managementTrack financial activity on all projects in development, licensed productions, and investmentsWork with Stage Plays production finance team and interact with local production Accountants and General Managers to ensure proper accounting and reporting and compliance with Universal’s corporate policies and proceduresWork with Stage Plays production finance team and Controllership to ensure proper accounting and account reconciliations for all productions, investments, and licensesSupport accounting function for Stage Plays funding requests, cash receipts, and paymentsWork closely with Controllership through monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processesPerform ad hoc analyses, reconciliations, and data compilation for managementQualificationsBasic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree requiredMinimum 2 years of relevant experience (including Finance, Accounting, etc.)Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiencyDesired Characteristics:
