Our global accounting team serves Daktronics stakeholders – employees, customers, vendors, shareholders, and our communities. We partner with our internal leaders to prepare and model financial data to provide actionable information for business decision making and profitable growth. Our team is responsible for accurate financial reporting, internal control design, management, and testing, maintaining subsidiary financial information, and adapting systems for financial reporting needs.

 

We are looking for an innovative managerial finance leader who will build relationships with our manufacturing teams and consult and provide forecast, reporting, and analysis of financial analytics and results. This leader will prepare financial scenarios, KPIs, and other financial models to provide insight to the organization. A successful candidate will be part of the manufacturing leadership team, while supporting the CFO office and have an ability to communicate collaboratively and effectively across both the manufacturing division and the broader organization to drive data-driven decisions and continuous improvement in related processes and data availability.

 

What are my responsibilities?

As part of the manufacturing leadership team, the financial analyst leads the financial analysis and reporting to support the team in operating effectively and improving operations in alignment with company strategies and executive leadership direction.Partner to the manufacturing leadership team by developing and communicating financial forecasts and other financial models including regular preparing of analysis to size strategic initiatives and their value (such as continuous improvement, cost of quality, strategic automation, make versus buy, manufacturing location analysis, product costing using various allocation models for pricing strategy, etc.) and upkeep financial data and reporting relating to such priorities. Provide regular updates and analysis to the CFO’s office for corporate wide analytics and decision making.Quarterly preparation and monthly analysis of the forecasted and actual cost of production, input costs, capital planning, strategic initiative financial sizing, and other KPI tracking.Provide regular reporting of actionable/explainable financial information and education for groups using product/business line profitability information, product costing, forecast to actual analysis, and location cost analysis. Provide and explain financial information effectively to all levels of management to support data-driven decision making.Design and deliver capacity performance reporting including variance analysis, KPI tracking, and comparative analysis to benchmarks that will drive key business decisions. Measure, input, and regularly report these metrics.Partner with other functions to provide thoughtful solutions to data requests, application, and processes to effectively collect, maintain, and report key data. Identify and initiate process improvements for the division’s financial planning and reporting systems.Educate financial/business acumen and ensure adherence to policy. Establish and facilitate process development and perform on-going review of planning and reporting process to evaluate effectiveness and make recommendations for improvements.Support the corporate function and other business unit financial analysts, business analysts, cost accounting, and other stakeholders in generating insights, particularly in the areas of manufacturing productivity, product costing, CAPEX monitoring, cost of quality, warehousing and distribution cost, inventories, and slow-moving inventory. Utilize our integrated business planning tools to enter data and report financial information.

Where will I be working?  

Most of our teams work from home. At this time, we plan to continue with this practice. However, with the need for this position to partner with leadership in our U.S. manufacturing locations regularly, we will give strong preference to candidates that can easily travel to these locations and are willing and available to travel to other manufacturing locations outside of the United States. This opportunity is open to U.S. based candidates.

Qualifications

What do I need to be qualified?

Bachelor’s degree in finance or related degree.5-7 years of experience in consulting or manufacturing conducting financial analysis, forecasting, and financial modeling.Experience with manufacturing processes and costing operations, financial statements, financial metrics, and presenting data.Must have an affinity for numbers and systems, and have strong analytical skills combined with a critical, but constructive, attitude.Strong ‘can-do’ mentality and ‘drive’ to accomplish tasks in an environment with multiple stakeholders.Accurate, organized and disciplined in order to achieve high quality output and to meet strict deadlines.Experience in ‘change management’ in a finance environment preferred.

You will also need demonstrated experience in the areas listed below:

Managerial accounting capabilities to produce information for decision making.Reducing complex accounting concepts and/or large volumes of data to a typical user level.Information systems understanding, especially ERP and reporting applications.Understanding of financial accounting concepts and US GAAP, especially inventory valuation. Excellent business acumen and strategic thinking.Ability to identify, measure, analyze, and interpret accounting information to help managers make decisions.Strong self-motivation and ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.Continued willingness and desire to learn and be flexible with an evolving workload.Strong organizational skills including managing multiple and changing priorities with accuracy.Strong interpersonal skills demonstrating collaboration with others and effective relationship development.Superior English language written and verbal communication skills.Commitment to following policies and procedures and maintaining confidentiality.Knowledge of, or aptitude to learn, business intelligence software solutions such as Reporting Services, Power BI, and Business Planning and Consolidation software. SQL knowledge beneficial.Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience in ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and/or Microsoft reporting and analytical software.Ability to travel periodically to other Daktronics locations. Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver’s license and good driving record. Must be able to meet and maintain Daktronics Qualified Driver status.
