Job Description:

The position is accountable for providing accurate, timely, and relevant monthly, quarterly and annual financial data production, reporting and analysis to different stakeholders of the Global Wealth and Asset Management (GWAM) Finance Financial Planning & Analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) is passionate about the following key activities:

Acquiring deep institutional knowledge of GWAM business divisions across the company: Retail (mutual funds), Retirement and Institutional Asset Management by partnering with the other finance teams. Using in-house and industry knowledge to provide research and financial analysis resulting in value insights and recommendations to GWAM partners. This includes supporting the development of new reports, metrics, and analyses that will enable senior executives to make informed decisions on a timely basis.Producing thoughtful, relevant management reporting materials for GWAM BUs, Group Finance, Strategy, Investor Relations, the Board of Directors, and external partners, underpinned by a broad understanding of the wealth and asset management industry and competitive landscape.

The SFA will contribute to the following aspects of management reporting and business analysis:

Actively involved with consolidating, analyzing, and synthesizing large amount of sophisticated financial and non-financial information from numerous suppliers from GWAM BU Finance and Reporting teampreparing high-quality monthly and quarterly reports, dashboards and presentations that are presented to the GWAM CFOs and Business Heads, in a timely and organized fashion.Demonstrating strong attention to detail, focusing on financial integrity, consolidation, alignment, and consistency in “look and feel” results.Supporting the annual consolidated planning process, including investigation of trends, model projections, sensitivities, metrics, preparation of decks and presentation to various stakeholders when required.Initiating ongoing improvements by exploring, identifying, and implementing reporting, analysis, and process solutions.Working collaboratively with partners and team members; building and leveraging relationships by understanding their issues and challengesParticipates in team cross-training to establish back-up and improvement of processes handled

Qualifications:

University graduate in Accounting/Finance, professional accounting designation (CPA) is preferredAt least 4 years of experience in a finance role, Wealth and Asset Management industry experience an asset. Prior experience with annual planning processes would be an advantage.Hybrid Work Arrangement: Amenability and readiness to work onsite and from home anytime (dependent on business need AND/OR current external environment/situation) and must be willing to work on a mid-shift schedule

Skills to Hire/Nice to Haves:

Experience in participating or spearheading in automating processes is a plusStrong MS Excel and MS PowerPoint skillsGood communication and presentation skills; ability to succinctly engage with business partners and team membersPower BI knowledge is a plusStrong technical accounting skills with a solid understanding of the business environment and financial reporting structure to provide value-added analysisKnowledge of IFRS tools (SmartView-Essbase, Lawson)Knowledge of Planning tools and Anaplan would be an advantageStrong attention to detailProven ability to thrive in a fast paced, high-performing and collaborative team environment while managing multiple, constantly changing priorities and ad-hoc requestsProactive approach to continuous improvements and a positive “can-do” attitudeAbility to identify and investigate complex issues and recommend actionable solutions
