Senior Financial Services Industry Consultant
About the RoleSwift provides a range of business and technical and other supporting infrastructure consultancy services across Swift’s customer base. The Financial Services Industry Consultant operates in a medium to complex business and technical environment. The Financial Services Industry Consultant is responsible to support and deliver technical consulting services . These consultancy engagements aim at helping our customers to ready themselves against product and context changes, to improve their operational efficiency, reduce costs and mitigate operational risks.
This role will have the daily management of projects of various complexities in a customer-facing setup, as well as engagement with internal stakeholders such as the Business Development, Product and other Professional Services teams.

What to expect:

Define, analyze and evaluate detailed functional requirements for projects by working in close liaison with customer stakeholders together with the development team and reporting to the SWIFT project manager.

Propose solutions to business problems in relation to current and future business environments of the customer and matching to current and future features of the SWIFT messaging interface product.

Assist in the analysis of a specific business/technical domain in order to evaluate and understand short/medium term tactical (and potentially strategic) customer requirements.

Prepare, write and maintain functional requirement specifications in collaboration with internal stakeholders, ranging from the Development Team, Account Manager and the SWIFT project team from country across the region.

Clearly and unambiguously document the requirement specifications, user stories, use cases, data flows, boundary conditions, exceptions, test and acceptance criteria, etc in either customer specific documentation standards or the SWIFT project management methodology templates.

Provide objective, relevant, and accurate recommendations for the customer to make operational improvements; and help supporting Business Development department to identify potential business opportunities for SWIFT.

Provide assistance during design, implementation and testing phase by clarifying requirements, and keeping the requirements documentation in line with the implemented solution through version tracking.

Prepare and conduct requirement workshops, walkthrough sessions, critical review sessions and presentations on product enhancements and/or alternatives.

Deliver and implement technical solutions and provide product-related consulting to our customers

Deliver technical and operational training on Swift’s products and solutions to our customers

Manage projects of varying complexities (small to medium size), ensuring effectiveness in meeting customer's needs, and deliver the project's expected outcomes while maintaining effective communication and expectation management in order to guarantee customer satisfaction

Manage project risks (security, resources, budget, quality) and escalating issues to management when appropriate

Assist the customer in their technical readiness or solution onboardings, solving potential issues they face during projects when those fall within one’s area of expertise and within the scope of the project, thereby ensuring the success of the customer engagement

Ensure deliveries for assigned customers (update management, operational checks, etc.) in light of Swift’s operational roadmap / customer’s initiatives

What will make you successful:

Professional background/education: Degree in Business Information System, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.

2 to 4 years' experience in similar roles with preferably experience in software development, design or architecture of software systems; or equally through work experience in a technical writing, software development or support type of environment.

Experience in project manager roles is nice to have.

Language: Fluent in English and Japanese is a must; any other Asian languages is a plus

Knowledge of (financial) messaging platforms.

Knowledge of protocols and technology standards: network and communication technologies (MQ, JMS, APIs ), XML/JSON, Oracle database and security technologies (PKI).

Eager to participate in continuous improvement of the requirements gathering and design process.

Strong communication and presentation skills with excellent English, both written and spoken.

Knowledge of SWIFT products and services is an asset.

Solid experience in Word as an editing tool and Visio as flow tool, knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint is an asset.

Proven ability to contribute in a diverse, multi-cultural, multi-country team environment and the ability to work independently

Ability to contribute in a team environment and deliver under pressure

Occasional travel may be required (up to 10-20% of the time)

Occasional weekends and after business hours work can be expected on a need-to basis to support customer go-live activities
