CTG is seeking a Senior Technical Engineer opening for our client in Buffalo, NY. Location: Remote Duration: 6 months Must-Have Skills: Calypso Expertise Fixed Income Experience Nice-to-Have Skills: Accounting Knowledge Foreign Exchange Experience Overview: In this role, you will provide technical solutions, designs, documentation, and guidance for the development and deployment of new or existing technical solutions. You will be responsible for providing technical leadership in infrastructure architecture, system integration, and assisting with critical projects in the financial services industry. You will work closely with business and technology teams to deliver high-quality solutions. This position involves expertise in the Calypso fintech solution, with a specific focus on fixed income migration. The expected go-live is in July 2025, with support needed through go-live and post-go-live. Primary Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, and execution of technical solutions in alignment with organizational goals. Collaborate regularly with technology management, support teams, and customers to ensure solutions meet current and future needs. Engage in infrastructure architecture and design, research and development of new systems, and creation of technology standards and policies. Perform thorough analysis of user requirements, operational constraints, and ensure successful implementation through unit testing, system integration, and user acceptance testing. Interact regularly with business partners across various levels to clarify business requirements and technical challenges. Estimate and size efforts for moderate to large-scale projects. Coordinate vendor interactions, manage contracts, and oversee vendor resources. Mentor and coach less experienced engineers and technicians, reviewing documentation and proposals. Stay updated on financial services trends, technologies, and industry best practices. Maintain an expert level of understanding in supporting applications, development environments, and client environments. Contribute to developing capital and expense budgets. Adhere to company risk management and regulatory standards, identifying issues for escalation when necessary. Foster a diverse work environment that reflects the company’s values. Maintain internal control standards, ensuring timely resolution of audit and regulatory points. Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities: Not Applicable. Education and Experience Required: A combined minimum of 12 years of higher education and/or relevant work experience in systems design, management, and/or architecture. In-depth knowledge of system development and infrastructure lifecycle, vendor best practices, IT service management, and systems design. Education and Experience Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. At least 12 years of advanced experience in technical engineering, infrastructure design, data management, and development for complex applications. Ability to translate business and functional requirements into high-quality technical implementations. Advanced technical, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Expertise in relative technologies, with demonstrated industry/vendor recognition. Strong facilitation skills to gather and review requirements from diverse stakeholders. Strong understanding of server/client and virtual technologies. Experience with project estimation, budgeting, and planning. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Excellent communication, influencing, and process-oriented skills. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
