Senior Food Scientist - Bakery
We are looking for a **Senior Food Scientist** **(Bakery)** to join our R&D Gluten Free Baking Team at our plant location in Denver, Colorado! As a **Senior Food Scientist (Bakery),** reporting to a Director R&D, you are an essential contributor to product development. You will bring a food forward and culinary focused mindset to improve or bring new products to the table. As part of the gluten free baking team in Denver, you will be an essential contributor to the success of our product development. Position Responsibilities: + Develop new gluten-free bakery and bread products from concept to successful commercialization + Determine ingredient functionality through analytical and bench-top evaluation + Organize and conduct plant trials and new product start-ups + Learn and use laboratory instruments for ingredient and product analysis + Execute experiments and prepare results for review + Conceptualize and develop new product prototypes + Learn and use on-line specification system + Assist team with and individually lead product cuttings + Work as a technical leader on projects Position Requirements: + Bachelor's degree in Baking Science, Food Science or related field. + 5+ years of relevant work experience in food product design, formulation, ingredient functionality and interaction, product scale-up, plant testing and commercialization. + Experience with food industry standards of quality and foods safety, and FDA regulations. + Gluten Free Baking experience within a manufacturing facility is highly desirable. + We require applicants for this role to be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship either now or in the future. Physical Requirements: + Standing in R&D test kitchens and/or production floor for extended periods of time + Exposure to manufacturing environments for periodic extended workdays including loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions and exposure to food tasting and smells including all food allergens + Use of tools, instruments, equipment, and machinery Our benefits include medical, dental, vision, 15 vacation days, 6 additional days off and 11 paid holidays. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity.
