Senior FPGA Engineer
Req ID: 123675 Remote Position: No Region: Asia Country: Malaysia State/Province: Bayan Lepas City: Penang **Summary** The Senior Lead Engineer, Electrical Design develops new electrical systems/circuits for various applications. Research system ideas and draw up plans for these systems, and capture them in schematics and system specifications. Test, simulate, validate and qualify their systems and make adjustments as needed. Provide support throughout the manufacturing of the electrical systems they have designed. The Senior Lead Engineer, Electrical Design works in cross functional teams with other designers, customers, manufacturing engineering and project leadership to ensure robust and high quality product development. Enhance designs with feedback from reviews in areas such as manufacturing, test, supply chain, reliability, industrial design and simulations. **Detailed Description** ● Work closely with product architects and software designers to understand/define the product architecture and design specification that fulfills customer requirements. ● Design board-level circuitry, perform SI/PI simulation, and provide layout routing guidelines. ● Perform RTL design, module-level verification, and test case definition. ● Drive the entire back-end RTL design flow including design constraints, floor-plan, and timing closure. ● Perform product electrical & system validation, issue debug and resolution. ● Proficiency with standard electronics lab equipment such as power supply, oscilloscope, logic analyzer, etc. ● Collaborate with peers including different function team, co-work with team member, and mentor junior design engineers ● Provide accurate and timely project schedule and cost estimates **Knowledge/Skills/Competencies** ● Minimum 6 years and above experience as a Electrical/Electronics engineer with board-level, FPGA, MCU, and CPU design experience. ● Familiar with AMD (Xilinx) FPGA, Intel (Altera) FPGA, Lattice CPLD/FPGA design tools (eg. ISE, Vivado, Quartus, Modelsim, & etc) ● In depth knowledge with RTL design such as VHDL, Verilog, and System Verilog. ● In depth knowledge with various high speed interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, USB, DDR, LVDS, and etc. ● In depth knowledge with various low speed interfaces such as SPI, I2C, UART, and etc. ● Familiar with UVM constrained random coverage driven concepts, assertion based verification and functional coverage techniques ● Excellent problem solving and hands-on debugging skills ● Excellent communications skills and well English speaking/writing ability ● Team oriented; strong interpersonal skills and ability to understand customer needs, expectations and perspective ● Demonstrated ability to multi-task on multiple projects **Physical Demands** + Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment. + Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. + Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required. + Occasional travel may be required. **Typical Experience** + 4 to 6 years in a similar role or industry. **Typical Education** Bachelor degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
