Asia South Pacific Wealth and Personal Banking (ASP WPB) Fraud strategic vision is to keep our customers and the Bank safe from fraud risks, whilst maintaining the best possible customer experience. Focusing on the specific fraud threats faced now and, in the future, the team use techniques and technology that protect our business and our customers.
We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Fraud Manager, leading in Payment Fraud.
This role is part of our Fraud Control Design, Maintenance Delivery team within ASP WPB Fraud. The team is responsible for the management of fraud across the business, ensuring that fraud controls are identified, maintained, and optimised to prevent, detect and mitigate fraud for HSBC ASP markets and their customers. The team have accountability within the direct fraud remit, and for the implementation and enhancement of controls outside of the broader fraud function.
As a Senior Fraud Manager, you will be accountable to lead on Payment Fraud across ASP markets. You’ll provide control oversight, be accountable for defining the ASP Payment Fraud strategy and seeing it through to execution.
The responsibilities of the holder will include:
Lead proactively to ensure controls are effective, defining the current footprint, identifying gaps or weaknesses and then prioritise the fraud control backlogEnsure strategies and protocols are developed through analysis of fraud patterns, customer and market needs and insights, and then implemented within our fraud detection systems and operational processesIncident management, ensuring control issues are resolved quickly and effectivelyLead engagement, with colleagues and stakeholders, to initiate reviews and challenge control effectiveness. Work with the wider business and risk owners to develop and deploy robust fraud controls and strategies that improve the fraud control environmentProvide challenge and escalation for ‘in scope’ controls that are sub optimal, ensuring responsible control owners have robust remediation plans in place and/or appropriately governed risk acceptanceBuild and maintain a deep understanding of the evolving fraud risk typologies and threat landscape, its potential impact, as well as making innovative recommendations on ways to keep Fraud colleagues up to date with developmentsDefine the ASP Fraud strategy for Payment FraudProvide SME guidance and direction across Payment FraudShape and communicate a clear strategy and vision across the team and wider organizationWork closely with Value Streams (across WPB) and Vendors to drive product innovation that can enhance fraud controls and create new opportunitiesEnsure alignment between the market, regional and global fraud teams for strategy, control frameworks and policySome careers open more doors than others.
