Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Senior Freight and Logistics Researcher for the Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation (CAIT) within the School of Engineering. This position is reporting to the Director of the center and working independently with clearly defined objectives of the projects involved.
Among the key duties of the position are the following: Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) on research topics related to inventory, assessment, visualization and analytics for highway infrastructure assets, specifically within spatially-enabled environments. Evaluates projects related to the freight and logistics industry, Goods Movement Strategies, or Freight Corridors. Serves as the principal investigator or co-principal investigator on specific tasks for research projects pertaining to transportation planning, asset management, design, maintenance, preservation, rehabilitation, smart structures, smart cities, sensor technologies, and advanced materials. Provides technical input on existing contract and upcoming proposal and represents Rutgers at national and international conferences, workshops, or technical meetings. Acts as liaison between academia, industry and government partners. Position Status Part Time Hours Per Week 19.5 Daily Work Shift Day Work Arrangement This position requires a fully on-site work arrangement.
