Senior Frontend Engineer
**About the Role** As a Software Engineer on the Financial Products Engineering team in Brazil, you will be a member of Uber’s first Tech Center in LATAM and part of the global engineering team! Our team owns the platforms responsible for building the next generation of Financial Products that will help our customers achieve their life goals. As a critical part of the customer journey, we build engaging products by solving deep technical challenges in problem domains that are specific to Uber’s business. You’ll write reliable and maintainable code that teams across the company rely on, and you will collaborate with other team members to design, develop, and maintain user interfaces and features for web applications. **What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points** \-\-\-\- What the Candidate Will Do ---- 1. Design, develop, and enhance fullstack web solutions in partnership with a team of skilled engineers, Product Managers, and Designers. 2. Write high-quality code and uphold standards for testing and coverage. 3. Align the team on solutions to ambiguous problems and analyze the tradeoffs of different technical solutions 4. Contribute to engineering cultivation in terms of quality, monitoring, and on-call practices. 5. Find opportunities to improve how our team operates and promote standard processes \-\-\-\- Mandatory Qualifications ---- 1. Experience creating, designing, and maintaining polished and high-quality user interfaces for a wide audience. 2. Have advanced/senior prior experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern UI frameworks like React. 3. Not afraid of digging into Go and back-end systems to understand the stack end-to-end. 4. Front-end architecture design experience. 5. Experience in growth engineering, testing product flows iteratively using A/B testing. 6. Good cases breaking down complex problems to develop user-centered clean solutions. 7. Advanced English skills. PS: Openness to work in a hybrid model in São Paulo is mandatory. \-\-\-\- Preferred Qualifications ---- 1. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field 2. Experience building scalable systems (we primarily use Go, Python, JavaScript, and Typescript). 3. Excellent product instincts. You first think about users rather than the best technical solution. 4. Proven track record of delivering features. You are known for shipping products and features lightning-fast, and reliably.
