Senior Fundraising Readiness Specialist
The expected salary range for this position is $103,800.00 - $129,740.00. Employees in specific high cost of labor locations in the United States (such as San Francisco, CA and Seattle, WA) may qualify for a geographic differential. Have you trained and developed fundraising (or sales) teams, with experience developing and delivering training materials and programs, and want to use those skills to train and equip fundraisers and those that support fundraising at Compassion?

Have you served on a church staff or in a Christian ministry, with experience in the complexities of high-level operations and stewardship, and have adult learning and development experience that could be applied to training our fundraisers that build relationships with churches or influencers to partner with Compassion?

Do you have sales or fundraising experience, an understanding of the complexities of relationship management, skills, and passion to develop learning solutions to help teams nurture relationships with our partners and fundraise for Compassion?

This senior specialist serves as a strategic consultant on the business readiness of fundraising at Compassion International through developing and delivering learning solutions, creating resources such as videos, job aids and procedures, and implementing quality measures to help ensure we are carrying out standardized work in our fundraising operations.

But what does all that even mean? Here’s an example – one of our top partnership efforts is with churches in the US. We engage churches that have a shared passion for international missions and releasing children from poverty in Jesus’ name, then partner with them to get kids sponsored and to raise funds for all the great work we do at Compassion. This senior specialist will collaborate with the leaders of those relationship managers, understand what their learning and development needs are, and develop & deliver a full scope of learning solutions to equip their teams to find new and develop current partnerships. The fundraising readiness support that’s delivered will cover new hires, upskill training for current team members, training on our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Salesforce, fundraising, field experiences, and delivering readiness support to new projects, processes and products.

What will you do?

Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.Acts as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understands Christ’s mandate to protect children.Commits to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abides by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Reports any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately supports responses to incidents if they occur.Assesses and recommends readiness and learning strategies to achieve organizational goals and objectives in a time-, resource- and cost-effective manner. Develops strategies by consulting with Compassion leadership, internal customers and stakeholders, learning professionals and lateral organizational relationships. Manages stakeholder expectations. Further, develops activities to reinforce key learnings and measure quality.Guides participants, in small and large group settings, both virtual and in-person, through complex structured learning and interaction utilizing various facilitation techniques, adjusting style as necessary.Oversees and manages the full readiness journey of various fundraising functional areas, and manages all resources that clarify standard work, delivery of learning solutions and measures quality of the output of both our resources/training and the work of those trained as aligned with the standard.Ensures the audit and evaluation of existing content, assesses needs and results, develops new programs, modifies existing programs, or implements changes as appropriate.Develops and maintains strong partnerships with appropriate vendors. May select, oversee, and evaluate training and development vendors to provide, develop, and/or deliver training for employees or partners.Provides insight and expertise regarding Readiness, Documentation / Resources / Communication methods, Learning and Development and Quality Measurement. Draws from emerging strategies and best practices to enhance the success of learning programs across the ministry. Operationalizes emerging trends, tools, and technologies.Will develop, manage, facilitate, and participate in employee onboarding programs. May lead the facilitation of non-training events such as team-building, brainstorming, or other group sessions.Coaches and provides expertise, and may oversee the work of other professionals and support staff in the discipline.Frequently coaches, provides expertise, and may oversee the work of other professionals and support staff in the department or division.

What do you bring?

10+ years in leadership, development, or career coaching that would be applied to promoting the operational readiness of our fundraisers.5+ years of relevant experience in one of the following:

Trained and developed fundraising (or sales) teams, with experience developing and delivering learning & readiness solutions.

Served on a church staff or in a Christian ministry, with experience in the complexities of high-level operations and stewardship.

Fundraising (or sales) experience, with an understanding of the complexities of relationship management, along with skills and passion to develop learning solutions.

High level of technical proficiency in systems & software, with the ability to rapidly learn and adapt.Expert collaborator and communicator (verbal and written) and experience speaking in front of large audiences (50+), virtually or in-person.

We will be excited if you have:

Familiarity with Compassion as a sponsor, and even better, have volunteered, gone on a Compassion trip or worked for Compassion.Experience developing e-learning training, walkthrough tutorials or explainer videos.Proficiency in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools, specifically Salesforce.International missions or international development experience.

Travel Requirements. May be required to travel up to 20% of normal schedule, including international travel in support of field experiences.
