Being the custodian of clear communication within the team with the aim of ensuring that the accuracy in fit and overall appearance of the garments are achieved within a well managed lead time to meet the target for approved garment seal date within the required critical path The Senior Garment Technologist will cover styles in Womenswear and Kidswear across product categories
Responsibilities
Providing strong technical support for the Design teams drawing on a solid technical knowledge of pattern making and understanding of the manufacturing processes across multiple product categories within womenswear and kidswear
Taking ownership of the sealing process from design sample through to production working to tight critical paths
Creating and managing a block library ensuring continuity and consistency across the range
Through fit days benchmarking and wearer trials make sure that private label product has the best possible fit and quality and is ahead of our competitors
Risks assessing products in terms of fabrication & trims
Experience/ Requirements
Matric
Diploma in pattern making
Has full knowledge of garment construction
Minimum of 10 years experience as a pattern maker and been in a senior pattern makers role in womenswear
Has minimum 5 years experience as a garment technologist
Good interpretation of fabric knowledge as suited to particular styles
Remuneration Market related
